Türkiye Odalar ve Borsalar Birliği (TOBB) Türkiye Yükseköğretim Meclisi Toplantısı, YÖK Başkanı Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar’ın katılımıyla Yükseköğretim Kurulu Başkanlığında gerçekleştirildi.
Toplantıda meclis üyesi olan vakıf yükseköğretim kurumlarının yöneticileriyle yükseköğretimin çeşitli yönleri üzerine istişarelerde bulunularak vakıf üniversitelerinin mevcut durumu aktarıldı.
YÖK Başkanı Erol Özvar, üniversitelerin iktisadi büyüme ve kalkınmada üzerine düşen misyonların ülkenin beşerî sermayesi ve genç nüfusun istihdam edilme kapasitesinin nitelikli hale getirilmesi ile küresel ekonomik rekabette üstünlük sağlayacak yolları, usulleri ve kapasiteleri göstermesi olduğunu söyledi.
Bu süreçlerin gerçekleşmesinde devlet ve vakıf üniversitesi ayrımı yapmadıklarını vurgulayan Özvar, “Eğitim-öğretim, üniversite-sanayi iş birliği, Ar-Ge ve inovasyon konusunda devlet ve vakıf üniversiteleri bakımından bir ayrım gözetmiyoruz. Bu konuda da bir iş bölümünün doğru olduğunu düşünmüyoruz.” diye konuştu.
“WE DO NOT DISCRIMINATE STATE AND FOUNDATION UNIVERSITY”
Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkey Higher Education Assembly Meeting, was held under the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education with the participation of YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.
At the meeting, the current situation of foundation universities was discussed on various aspects of higher education with the executives of foundation higher education institutions, which are members of the council.
President of YOK, Erol Özvar said that the mission of universities in economic growth and development is to make the human capital of the country and the employment capacity of the young population qualified, and to show the ways, methods and capacities that will provide superiority in global economic competition.
Emphasizing that they do not distinguish between state and foundation universities in the realization of these processes, Özvar said, “We do not make any distinction between state and foundation universities in terms of education-training, university-industry cooperation, R&D and innovation. We do not think that a division of labor is correct in this regard, either.”
