İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi (İAÜ) Eğitim Fakültesi Yabancı Diller Eğitimi Bölümü Arap Dili Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı Arapça Öğretmenliği Programı ve Yabancı Diller Yüksek Okulu Mütercim – Tercümanlık Arapça Bölümü’nün düzenlediği webinarların ikincisi gerçekleştirildi. “Modern Arap Edebiyatında Necip Mahfuz” konusunun işlendiği webinara Selçuk Üniversitesi Yabancı Diller Yüksekokulu Müdürü ve Arap Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölüm Başkanı Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kazım Ürün konuk oldu.
İAÜ Mütevelli Heyet Başkanı Doç. Dr. Mustafa Aydın açılış konuşmasında, Nobel Edebiyat Ödüllü ünlü Mısırlı roman ve hikâye yazarı Necip Mahfuz’un Arap edebiyatındaki yerinin önemine değindi. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kazım Ürün ise; sanat, kültür ve edebiyatın dildeki önemi, dilin gelişiminde, canlılığının ve işlerliğinin devam etmesindeki rolü, modern Arap edebiyatında öne çıkan şahsiyetler ve temaları, Necip Mahfuz’un hayatı, Necip Mahfuz ile yaptığı mülakatta yazar hakkında edindiği izlenimler, Mahfuz’un edebiyata yönelişi ve edebi serüveni, 1988 yılında yazara Nobel Edebiyatı Ödülünün verilişi, romanlarında ele aldığı konular, toplumsal gerçekçi romanları, yazarın sembolik romanlarından Evladu Haratina ve Necip Mahfuz’un fikirleri hakkında ayrıntılı değerlendirmeler yaptığı konuşmasında, yazarın özlü sözlerinden de örnekler sundu.

Dr. Mustafa Aydın highlighted the importance of Necip Mahfuz, the famous Egyptian novel and story writer with Nobel Prize for Literature in Arabic literature.
