The 39th General Assembly Meeting of the Standing Committee for the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership of Local and Regional Authorities (COPPEM) was held online with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. The 2025 activities, ongoing collaborations, and the roadmap for the upcoming period were discussed comprehensively.

The meeting continued with evaluations conducted from a multi-stakeholder and collective-wisdom perspective.
During the ‘Euro-Mediterranean Dialogues’ session held following the General Assembly, the experiences shared by Governor of Gaziantep Kemal Çeber on inter-institutional coordination, responsibilities of local administrations, and strengthening social resilience served as an important reference not only for Türkiye but for the entire Euro-Mediterranean region.
In another session organized within the framework of the Euro-Mediterranean Dialogues, Istanbul Aydın University Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Zafer Aslan delivered the opening address and evaluated the water crisis in European and Mediterranean cities and rural areas in all its dimensions.
