The Preference and Promotion Days at Istanbul Aydın University continue with strong participation and great enthusiasm.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, President of Istanbul Aydın University, visited the preference area and met with prospective students and their families as they prepared to make one of the most important decisions of their academic journey.
During the visit, students’ aspirations were discussed, while academics shared insights into the university’s guidance services and the importance of helping candidates make informed choices. Through its Preference and Promotion Days, Istanbul Aydın University continues to bring together prospective students, families, and academics, providing a comprehensive university experience.
The July Management Meeting of Istanbul Aydın University was held under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, with the participation of the Rector, vice rectors, deans, and senior administrative executives.
During the meeting, the University’s achievements and initiatives from the previous period were comprehensively reviewed, while strategic priorities and the roadmap for the upcoming period were discussed. In line with Istanbul Aydın University’s vision of placing science, innovation, productivity, and students at the center of its mission, productive consultations were held on new initiatives aimed at strengthening academic quality, scientific research, international collaboration, and the overall student experience.
The June Management Meeting of Istanbul Aydın University was held under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın.
The meeting focused on initiatives aimed at further enhancing educational quality, advancing scientific research, and strengthening the university’s internationalization strategy. Priorities and the strategic roadmap for the upcoming period were discussed across a wide range of areas, including student experience, academic development, research activities, and global partnerships.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın emphasized the importance of preparing students for a rapidly changing world and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to remaining a leading institution where knowledge is produced, shared, and transformed into value.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın attended the class of his daughter, Ms. Fatma Nur Aydın, who began her master’s degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, USA. Stating that the determination and success of young people are the greatest source of hope for our future, Prof. Dr. Aydın met with Prof. Dr. Richard M. Locke, Dean of the MIT Sloan School of Management, on the same day to exchange views on international collaborations in higher education, innovative education models, and joint projects in the field of research. Expressing his belief that global academic collaborations will open new horizons for our students, researchers, and universities, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın thanked the Dean for his hospitality.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın gathered with Turkish academics who are experts in their fields and successfully working in different corners of the world in Boston to evaluate new ideas that will contribute to both joint projects and our country’s academic vision. Emphasizing that being part of such a strong global academic network presents a great opportunity for projects that will illuminate our country’s future, Prof. Dr. Aydın thanked all the academics whose contributions and sharing made the evening meaningful.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın met with Prof. Dr. Gökhan Hotamışlıgil, a distinguished scientist who has enlightened humanity with his pioneering work in the fields of metabolism and genetics, at Harvard University. Prof. Dr. Aydın held an extremely productive meeting with Prof. Dr. Hotamışlıgil on collaborations and projects that will inspire our youth in the light of science, and expressed his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Hotamışlıgil for his kind hospitality.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın visited the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Boston, Ms. Halime Diğdem Buner. Prof. Dr. Aydın emphasized that diplomatic missions representing our country abroad serve as valuable bridges in providing security and support to citizens and strengthening our country’s international vision. He thanked Ms. Buner for her hospitality.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın met with Boston College Vice Presidents Dr. Akua Sarr and Prof. Dr. Billy Soo to talk about international partnerships in higher education, student exchange programs, and joint projects. Emphasizing that strengthening global academic ties will open new horizons for young people and make valuable contributions to our country’s higher education vision, Prof. Dr. Aydın thanked his esteemed hosts for their warm hospitality.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın met with Turkish students continuing their education at Boston University and evaluated the young people’s academic achievements, future visions, and the important roles they play internationally. Emphasizing that the determination and dedication of the students will further strengthen Türkiye’s presence in the international academic arena, Prof. Dr. Aydın stated that being there for the young people, guiding them on their journey, and connecting them with broader opportunities is the greatest responsibility. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın concluded his remarks by saying, “I sincerely congratulate our young people, who are the guarantee of our future, and wish them continued success.”
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın participated in the 17th Türkiye Investment Conference held in New York in collaboration with DEİK and the Turkish-American Business Council and hosted by JP Morgan.
The conference featured speeches by Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye Dr. Fatih Karahan, DEİK President Nail Olpak, and TAİK President Murat Özyeğin. Current developments in the Turkish and global economies, our country’s investment potential and global vision were evaluated together with representatives of the business world.
Prof. Dr. Aydın stated that he believes this important meeting, attended by over 200 international portfolio managers and investors, will strengthen Türkiye’s effectiveness on the global economic stage, and expressed his hope that the conference will bring beneficial results for the country.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın attended the exhibition titled “Those in Anatolia: Treasures Behind the Doors” held at TÜRKEVİ in New York City, USA, hosted by Mr. M. Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye. Prof. Dr. Aydın stated that TÜRKEVİ, located directly opposite the UN Headquarters, is a source of great honor both for its magnificent physical structure and for the waving of our glorious flag.

This important meeting, attended by the former Prime Minister of Türkiye, Mr. Binali Yıldırım, Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Mr. Celal Adan, Minister of Trade, Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu, Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Mehmet Fatih Kacır, and distinguished businesspeople from our country, discussed Türkiye’s global vision and roadmap for the business world. Prof. Dr. Aydın expressed his gratitude to ASKON President Mr. Orhan Aydın for his gracious hospitality and inspiring presentations.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın attended the event hosted by the New York Türken Foundation. The program, which was also attended by Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu, and Ambassador to Washington Sedat Önal, included a presentation on the activities and future perspective of MÜSİAD America. The Istanbul Aydın University Karate Team became European Champions at the Intercollegiate European Karate Championships held in Warsaw, Poland, thanks to their determination and fighting spirit.
Istanbul Aydın University Board of Trustees Chairman Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın said the following in his statement regarding the IAÜ Karate Team, which achieved a historic success by winning the championship in a tournament featuring 145 universities and 326 athletes from 17 countries:
“I sincerely congratulate our students and everyone who contributed to this achievement. Today, we proudly say once again: IAU is a pioneer in every field, a leader in every field! This pride belongs to IAU, this pride belongs to Turkey, this pride belongs to all of us!” he said.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın visited Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). During the meeting, the Turkish-Arab University Rectors’ Congress, which will be held for the fifth time this year in Tunisia under the leadership of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in cooperation with the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) and the Arab Universities Union (AArU), was discussed with Ahmet Misbah Demircan, former Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism and Ambassador of Tunisia.
It was stated that this year’s congress, held under the theme “Transformation of Higher Education through Leadership, Innovation, and Regional Integration,” will bring together higher education institutions from Turkey and the Arab world under one roof once again, with the honorary presence of YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın emphasized that the strong ties to be established will not only increase academic productivity, but will also contribute to regional peace and development through educational diplomacy.
Prof. Dr. Aydın expressed his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), who has led the way in achieving international recognition, quality assurance, and collaborations through his vision and goals in the field of higher education.
