The September meeting of the Intellectual Thought Platform at Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) took place with the participation of the guest speaker, Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu.
During the meeting, Minister Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu delivered a presentation on the topic of “Transformation and Future of Health Services in Turkey.” Following this, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın expressed, “Under the leadership of our Minister, Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu, Turkey will continue to exceed world standards in healthcare. I extend my heartfelt gratitude for his valuable contributions and kind participation.”
The 2024-2025 Academic Year Opening Ceremony of the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) took place with the participation of the Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu. The event was attended by IAU President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Rector İbrahim Hakkı Aydın, Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Halil Alış, vice deans, academics, and students.
In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın remarked, “On this meaningful day that inspires the doctors of the future, we collectively emphasized the sacredness of medical education once again. At Istanbul Aydın University, we continue to train compassionate and skilled doctors with our expert academic staff and modern infrastructure. Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu is an exemplary leader with groundbreaking contributions in both healthcare management and the medical field, known for his deep commitment to his profession and people-focused approach. He has led numerous pioneering projects, from advancing healthcare policies to improving medical education. Today, his heartfelt and experience-rich speech to our future doctors was a source of inspiration. His profound knowledge and vision, as he conveyed the sacredness and responsibilities of the profession to our students, provided an invaluable opportunity for them. We extend our gratitude to the Minister and wish our students a successful academic year!”
The program concluded with the opening lecture delivered by Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu.
Hasan Akgün, Mayor of Büyükçekmece and a long-time friend of Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, visited IAU.
During the meeting, they discussed potential collaborations in the field of education and exchanged ideas on ongoing projects, while also planning future initiatives. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın expressed his gratitude for the visit.

The Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) ElektroAydın Team has advanced to the finals of the “EFFICIENCY CHALLENGE” Electric Vehicle Competition at TEKNOFEST, after passing through 16 judging panels. IAU Board of Trustees President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın visited the ElektroAydın team at their workspace.
In this context, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın said, “I sincerely congratulate our ElektroAydın Team for advancing to the finals of the ‘EFFICIENCY CHALLENGE’ Electric Vehicle Competition after passing TEKNOFEST’s rigorous selection process. Your continued work with great determination and perseverance, even at this hour, is the most significant force behind your success. The dedication you display around the clock not only makes our university proud but all of us. I am confident that you will achieve great successes. I warmly congratulate you all and wish you continued success!”
Ahmad Mohammadi, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Istanbul, visited Istanbul Aydın University (IAU).
IAU Board of Trustees President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated, “We were very pleased to host Consul General. During our meeting, we had a productive discussion on advancing academic and cultural collaborations between Iran and Türkiye. I thank Ahmad Mohammadi for his kind visit and believe that the projects we will undertake together in the future will make significant contributions to the relations between our two countries.”
The August Management Meeting of Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) was held with the participation of IAU President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın and the university’s management team. The meeting included a comprehensive evaluation of the preparations for the new academic term.
The graduation ceremony for the Faculty of Dentistry at Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) was held. The ceremony was attended by IAU President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın, vice-rectors, deans, and many academicians.
In his speech at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın said, “We are proud to send off our young and talented dentists on a new journey. We sincerely believe that these successful doctors, who have been trained with years of effort and dedication, will make significant contributions to the field of healthcare. We wish all our graduating students’ success in their professional careers and hope their paths are always clear.”
As part of the Tunisia meetings, İstanbul Aydın University has signed a mou with Carthage University. In this context, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, President of IAU, stated, “This important agreement will further deepen our international academic collaborations and create new opportunities for students and faculty members. We extend our sincere thanks to Carthage University President Nadia Mzoughi Aguir for her excellent hosting and hospitality during this process. This collaboration will build a strong bridge between the two universities and make a difference in the academic world through joint projects, research, and cultural interactions. We are confident that we will achieve success together in the new term. We look forward to our future projects and collaborations!”
A highly productive and significant meeting was held with Prof. Moez Chafra, President of El Manar University of Tunisia. During this meeting, a protocol was signed to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation between the two universities. In this regard, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated, “We thank Rector Prof. Moez Chafra and the university team for their excellent hospitality. This cooperation will enhance the educational quality of both universities and create new opportunities in various areas such as student and academic staff exchange programs, joint research projects, and cultural events. We are very excited about the projects and activities we will implement in the future. As İstanbul Aydın University, we continue our efforts to expand our international cooperation network and reach more students and academics worldwide.”
A cooperation protocol was signed between Istanbul Aydın University and Monauba University of Tunisia. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın said, “We express our gratitude to Monauba University President Prof. Dr. Jouhaina Gherib and her valuable team for their hospitality. We believe this partnership will make significant contributions to the development of both universities.”
On the final day of the Tunisia visit, UNIMED Board Member Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın had a meeting with the UNIMED Secretary General. During this meeting, a comprehensive evaluation was conducted on the current status of UNIMED and the General Assembly meeting held on October 22 at İstanbul Aydın University, hosted by Prof. Dr. Hamid Bin Aziza, Secretary General of the Union of the Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) and former President of Tunis University.
A meeting was held with agents in Tunisia by Istanbul Aydın University and Cyprus Science University. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, discussions were held with educational consultancy firms, and a decision was made to enhance collaborations. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated, “We aim to strengthen our international partnerships in education to offer broader opportunities.”
