The UFRAD Franchising Association’s November Board Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın and hosted by Mustafa Tuncer, Chairman of Cups&Clouds Coffee House. The meeting included discussions on ongoing activities, strategic plans for the new term and detailed preparations for Franchise Istanbul Expo, scheduled for 16–19 April 2026.
Participants exchanged insights on cooperation opportunities and strategic priorities that will contribute to the growth and development of the franchising sector.
Honorary President of Cyprus Aydın University, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, visited the campus during midterm week and met with students. He listened to their expectations regarding the exam period and shared evaluations concerning their academic experience.
During the visit, a meeting was also held with academic and administrative leaders. Academic development, student satisfaction and upcoming-term objectives were reviewed, with a focus on strengthening the university’s educational processes.
The first cohort of the Faculty of Dentistry wore their white coats at a ceremony attended by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. The milestone event celebrated the students’ transition into their professional journey and symbolically highlighted their responsibilities and aspirations.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın also examined the ongoing renovation and improvement works across the campus, emphasizing the importance of creating a more innovative and student-centered learning environment.
Within the scope of the visit, 5th President of the TRNC, H.E. Ersin Tatar, also visited the university. The meeting included discussions on developments in higher education, the TRNC’s vision for science and innovation, and the university’s contribution to the regional education ecosystem.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın paid a brief visit to the Textile and Fashion Design Department at Istanbul Aydın University. He examined the students’ creative ideas, visionary perspectives and project development processes. It was underlined that the innovative works produced by young designers play a crucial role in strengthening Türkiye’s position in the global fashion industry.
The students’ ability to transform fabric into artistic expression, along with their ambition to secure a competitive place in the sector, drew significant attention.
The 3rd International Rehabilitation and Health Sciences Conference was held at Istanbul Aydın University, organized in collaboration with the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) and Pakistan Superior University. The opening ceremony was attended by the Consul General of Pakistan in Istanbul, Khawaja Khurram Naeem, alongside faculty members and students from both Superior University and Istanbul Aydın University.
Organized on the foundation of scientific collaboration, friendship and shared values, the conference contributed to strengthening academic and cultural ties between Türkiye and Pakistan—two brother countries. Steps to deepen cooperation in education, science and culture were discussed, highlighting that ongoing collaborations will empower students internationally and open new pathways for joint projects.
Within the scope of the “Common Mind Meeting with Young Aydınlar” held at Istanbul Aydın University, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın met with the university’s class representatives. During the meeting, it was emphasized that universities are not only institutions where knowledge is transmitted but vibrant ecosystems where ideas, emotions and shared visions are cultivated.
Students shared their expectations, challenges and solution proposals on a wide range of topics—from cafeteria services to social facilities, academic schedules and communication channels. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın underlined that every student feedback is invaluable in guiding Istanbul Aydın University toward a stronger and more student-centered structure, emphasizing the significant contribution of constructive and solution-oriented student input.
The Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) convened its November Board Meeting, where ongoing scientific collaborations, joint projects and academic solidarity initiatives with universities across the Eurasian region were comprehensively reviewed. Efforts to strengthen inter-university interaction were discussed, and the roadmap for the upcoming period was outlined. Emphasis was placed on the importance of academic activities that transcend borders and bring together different languages and cultures. The meeting concluded with a commitment to further academic cooperation and collective production for a stronger Eurasian academic community.
The November Board Meeting of the Küçükçekmece City Council was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. During the meeting, strategic topics aimed at strengthening the city’s long-term vision were discussed, and new projects to enhance social participation and contribute to local development were evaluated. The meeting concluded with a clear commitment to continuing efforts that will support the sustainable development of Küçükçekmece.
Later the same day, the Industry and Business Cooperation Meeting was also convened under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, with the participation of Küçükçekmece District Governor Mr. Mustafa Anteplioğlu. Bringing together public representatives, local administrators and key actors from the business world, the meeting focused on strengthening the district’s economic vision and developing collaborative initiatives.
Employment-increasing, economic dynamism–supporting and sustainability-oriented cooperation models were assessed. Participants also exchanged views on concrete steps to be taken for Küçükçekmece’s future. The meeting concluded with a strong commitment to the vision of “a Küçükçekmece that produces and grows together.”
The first event of the Küçükçekmece City Council Women’s Assembly’s “Women’s Handicrafts on Table” project was held at the Tevfikbey Neighborhood Council Office with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın and Küçükçekmece Mayor Kemal Çebi.
Expressing that this meaningful initiative, which supports women in turning their handwork into income, bore witness to beautiful examples of productivity, solidarity, and local development, Prof. Dr. Aydın wholeheartedly congratulated all the women who contributed to the event and filled the stalls with their handwork, and thanked everyone involved.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın attended the class of his daughter, Ms. Fatma Nur Aydın, who began her master’s degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, USA. Stating that the determination and success of young people are the greatest source of hope for our future, Prof. Dr. Aydın met with Prof. Dr. Richard M. Locke, Dean of the MIT Sloan School of Management, on the same day to exchange views on international collaborations in higher education, innovative education models, and joint projects in the field of research. Expressing his belief that global academic collaborations will open new horizons for our students, researchers, and universities, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın thanked the Dean for his hospitality.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın gathered with Turkish academics who are experts in their fields and successfully working in different corners of the world in Boston to evaluate new ideas that will contribute to both joint projects and our country’s academic vision. Emphasizing that being part of such a strong global academic network presents a great opportunity for projects that will illuminate our country’s future, Prof. Dr. Aydın thanked all the academics whose contributions and sharing made the evening meaningful.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın met with Prof. Dr. Gökhan Hotamışlıgil, a distinguished scientist who has enlightened humanity with his pioneering work in the fields of metabolism and genetics, at Harvard University. Prof. Dr. Aydın held an extremely productive meeting with Prof. Dr. Hotamışlıgil on collaborations and projects that will inspire our youth in the light of science, and expressed his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Hotamışlıgil for his kind hospitality.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın visited the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Boston, Ms. Halime Diğdem Buner. Prof. Dr. Aydın emphasized that diplomatic missions representing our country abroad serve as valuable bridges in providing security and support to citizens and strengthening our country’s international vision. He thanked Ms. Buner for her hospitality.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın met with Boston College Vice Presidents Dr. Akua Sarr and Prof. Dr. Billy Soo to talk about international partnerships in higher education, student exchange programs, and joint projects. Emphasizing that strengthening global academic ties will open new horizons for young people and make valuable contributions to our country’s higher education vision, Prof. Dr. Aydın thanked his esteemed hosts for their warm hospitality.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın met with Turkish students continuing their education at Boston University and evaluated the young people’s academic achievements, future visions, and the important roles they play internationally. Emphasizing that the determination and dedication of the students will further strengthen Türkiye’s presence in the international academic arena, Prof. Dr. Aydın stated that being there for the young people, guiding them on their journey, and connecting them with broader opportunities is the greatest responsibility. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın concluded his remarks by saying, “I sincerely congratulate our young people, who are the guarantee of our future, and wish them continued success.”
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın participated in the 17th Türkiye Investment Conference held in New York in collaboration with DEİK and the Turkish-American Business Council and hosted by JP Morgan.
The conference featured speeches by Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye Dr. Fatih Karahan, DEİK President Nail Olpak, and TAİK President Murat Özyeğin. Current developments in the Turkish and global economies, our country’s investment potential and global vision were evaluated together with representatives of the business world.
Prof. Dr. Aydın stated that he believes this important meeting, attended by over 200 international portfolio managers and investors, will strengthen Türkiye’s effectiveness on the global economic stage, and expressed his hope that the conference will bring beneficial results for the country.
