IAU October Board Meeting was held with the administrative team of Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) in October. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, President of IAU, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the university’s strategic goals for the new academic year and future projects. Existing issues were discussed, and evaluations were made regarding the plans in place. In this context, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated, “As always, I express my gratitude to my esteemed colleagues who work alongside me to enhance the quality of education. I am confident that as the IAÜ family, we will raise our success bar even higher. Together, we will continue to achieve new successes.”
The October Board Meeting of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) was held, focusing on strengthening Turkey’s international trade and creating new opportunities. Important topics were discussed in light of global economic dynamics, and steps were determined to ensure that Turkish businesses play a more active role on the international stage. The meeting emphasized increasing collaboration and partnerships, exploring new markets, and contributing to Turkey’s economic vision.
The meeting was also attended by Christian Wulff, the 10th President of the Federal Republic of Germany and Chairman of the German-Turkish Business Council. In his speech, Mr. Wulff highlighted the importance of strengthening commercial relations between Turkey and Germany and creating new business opportunities between the two countries.
A workshop of the DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board) Foreign Exchange-Earning Services Working Group was organized, with Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Board Member of DEİK, participating in the event.
During the workshop, the current status of Turkey in this sector and future opportunities were evaluated. Topics such as sustainability, new service areas, and the reshaping of workforce needs were discussed. The importance of not only staying competitive in existing markets but also creating new market opportunities and taking strong steps in this direction was emphasized.
Following the workshop, the DEİK Foreign Exchange-Earning Services Working Group’s Executive Board Meeting for October was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. The meeting, which was attended by company representatives from various sectors, focused on addressing the current problems and proposing solutions for these sectors, as well as discussing the future activities of the Working Group and strategies to enhance Turkey’s potential in foreign exchange-earning services. Key decisions were made regarding projects to increase access to international markets and in line with the 2025 targets.
The IAUP held its 20th Triennial Conference in Beijing, China, from October 13 to 15, 2024. This gathering of higher education leaders focused on the theme “Generative AI and the Future of Higher Education,” addressing the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on universities.
More than 60 international speakers shared their insights on how AI is reshaping educational structures, teaching, and learning globally. Topics such as the ethical dimensions of AI, fostering innovation in education, governance, talent development, and the overall role of AI in shaping the future of higher education were discussed.
Istanbul Aydın University President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, also participated online, highlighting the importance of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education. In his speech, he stated: “The integration of artificial intelligence into university governance, along with the technological revolution we have experienced in recent years, requires us to rethink university operations. Otherwise, one of the most critical elements here would be to overlook the contributions that AI and technology bring to data-driven decision-making processes.”
The October Board of Directors meeting of the Turkish Service Exporters’ Association (HIB) was held, with Vice President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın in attendance.
During the meeting, current issues faced by various sectors within service exports were thoroughly discussed, and comprehensive evaluations were made to develop effective solutions. Strategic steps to enhance the sectors’ international competitiveness were then addressed, and a roadmap for the coming period was established. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın remarked, “As HIB, we will continue to work with determination to fully realize Turkey’s potential in service exports and to advance our sector even further”
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, President of BİL Educational Institutions, visited Diyarbakır BİL College. During his visit, he shared the following thoughts:

TEKNOFEST 2024 Opens with the Spirit of National Technology! The world’s largest aviation, space, and technology festival, TEKNOFEST 2024, kicked off with a grand opening, bringing together thousands of participants in an incredible atmosphere. Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) has proudly taken its place at TEKNOFEST, held in Adana.
On the first day of TEKNOFEST 2024, AK Party Deputy Chairman Ömer Çelik and Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar visited the IAU stand and received information about IAU’s projects. Later, TEKNOFEST Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar also visited the IAU stand, examining the innovative projects by IAU students. IAU President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın expressed his gratitude to Bayraktar for his interest and support for the projects.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın joined his colleagues and student entrepreneurs for dinner, sharing reflections on the day. “I thank my teammates for their dedicated work. Adana, with its warm people and unique cuisine, has made this gathering even more special,” he stated.
On the second day, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Osman Boyraz visited the IAU stand, closely examining the projects and providing substantial support for the students’ innovative ideas. Fatma Nur Aydın, President of Cyprus Science University, also joined the festival, representing her university. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın said, “As Istanbul Aydın University and Cyprus Science University, we are delighted to support and inspire our youth. I would like to thank all the participants, young engineers, scientists, and technology enthusiasts involved in this festival. You will build the future, and we will always be by your side!”
On the third day, Prof. Dr. Rahmi ER, Rector of Turkish Aeronautical Association University, visited the IAU stand and learned more about our projects. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın thanked him for his visit. Later that day, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at TEKNOFEST 2024, stating that Turkey is advancing toward becoming a country that not only uses but also designs, develops, produces, and exports technology.
On the fourth day, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın visited the IAU stand. Turkey’s second astronaut, Tuva Cihangir Atasever, also met with Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, who expressed his pride in learning about Atasever’s experiences in space research, thanking him for his valuable contributions. At TEKNOFEST Adana, where technology and innovation are on display at the highest level, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın also met with Istanbul Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal. Together, they exchanged ideas on inspiring the country’s youth and making greater strides in science, technology, and entrepreneurship. Boğaziçi University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naci İnci and Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Fazıl Önder Sönmez and Prof. Dr. Gürkan Selçuk Kumbaroğlu visited the IAU stand on the fourth day. IAU was honored to introduce our technology-focused projects and research to them and expressed our gratitude for their visit.
IAU’s Psikod Team Achieves Third Place in Champions League! Established in 2022 with the support of the Istanbul Aydın University Technology Development Center and the IAU Information and Technology Club, the Psikod Team achieved an impressive third place among 170 teams in the TEKNOFEST 2024 Champions League with its MOTO (Mobile Game Therapy Room) and AI-Supported MOTO Portal projects! Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın congratulated the team, expressing his heartfelt pride and wishing continued success to the team whose projects bridge technology and psychology, shaping the future.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Honorary President of Cyprus Science University (CSU), visited the university to review ongoing work in the new building and provide suggestions for improvements.
The following day, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın met with CSU’s deans, school directors, and heads of administrative units at a breakfast event. During this gathering, he also interacted with students in the school courtyard alongside administrative and academic staff. He answered students’ questions and listened to their wishes and complaints, informing the staff about necessary solutions.
Later, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın visited the student affairs staff to offer his support. Following this, he paid a visit to Zorlu Töre, the President of the Parliament of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, at his office.
