 The June Board of Directors Meeting of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) was held with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. At the meeting, strategies that will further advance Turkey’s foreign economic relations were discussed. In the session where the changing dynamics of global trade were evaluated, it was emphasized that efforts to increase the effectiveness of the business world in the international arena will continue with determination. The meeting provided a useful ground for consultation for concrete steps to be taken in line with common goals.

DEIK Board Member Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın participated in the 4th DEIK Italy-Türkiye Business Forum held in Rome as part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Italy.

Organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), this important platform, which aims to move the economic relations between the two countries forward, started with bilateral business meetings. The forum offered a strategic ground to increase the sustainable trade volume between Türkiye and Italy and to create new business opportunities.

As part of the program, DEIK and Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo signed the first memorandum of understanding to promote the internationalization of Italian businesses operating in Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated that this significant step lays the foundation for long-term and sustainable economic cooperation not only for the two countries but also for the region as a whole.

The forum also featured sector panels in strategic areas such as infrastructure, sustainable energy, circular economy, advanced manufacturing, global hubs and connectivity, and defense industry. The event continued with the opening speeches of Mr. Mustafa Tuzcu, Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye and Mr. Edmondo Cirielli, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın also met with the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the forum. This summit, which took place with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Meloni, marked a new era in the economic relations between the two countries.

The April Board of Directors Meeting of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) was held with the participation of Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan, Minister of Labor and Social Security of the Republic of Türkiye. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, DEİK Board Member and President of the Foreign Exchange Earning Services Working Group, also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, which was held with the active participation of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Türkiye’s employment policies, current developments in working life and global economic developments were discussed and comprehensive evaluations were made. The importance of the work carried out under the roof of DEİK to contribute to Türkiye’s economic development and to achieve a stronger position in the international arena was underlined once again.

Furthermore, the second workshop of the DEİK Foreign Exchange Earning Services Working Group was also held with a wide participation. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, who chaired the workshop, stated that in line with the opinions of different sector representatives, the problems faced in service exports were discussed in all aspects and solution proposals were meticulously developed.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın thanked Mehmet Ali Yalçındağ, Member of the Board of Directors of DEIK and President of the Türkiye-Germany Business Council, for his valuable contributions and economic assessments, especially on Germany.

Within the scope of the workshop, productive sessions were held on Türkiye-European Union relations, economic and diplomatic dynamics, problems experienced in visa processes, increasing the export potential of the service sector and developing cooperation.

Under the leadership of DEİK and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, it was underlined that concrete steps will continue to be taken with determination to overcome the obstacles Türkiye faces in services exports and to take a more effective place in the global market.

The March Executive Board meeting of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) was held led by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. During the meeting, the activities and projects carried out to further strengthen Turkey’s role in global trade were discussed in detail. The meeting, where new period strategies were evaluated, was a platform where important decisions were taken to increase our country’s international collaborations.

In the same framework, the March Executive Board meeting of the DEİK Foreign Exchange Earning Services Working Group was held led by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. At the meeting, important evaluations were made on strengthening the position of the service sector in the global market, increasing export earnings and developing international cooperation.

Participants also discussed and exchanged detailed views on the preparations for the workshop, which is planned to create a strategic roadmap that will guide the future of the sector. In accordance with the goal of increasing Turkey’s competitiveness in services exports, it was emphasized that efforts will continue with determination together with all stakeholders.

Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) Foreign Exchange Earning Services Working Group held its February Executive Board Meeting. DEİK Board Member Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın also attended the meeting, where the activity planning for 2025, new opportunities in service exports and strategies to increase global competitiveness were discussed. Participants held productive consultations to further strengthen Turkey’s position in the international arena.

At the same time, at the February Board of Directors meeting of DEİK, strategies that will carry the country’s foreign economic relations forward were evaluated. By closely following the dynamics of global trade, efforts to increase the power of the business world in the international arena were discussed and it was an important platform for determining road maps that will contribute to Turkey’s economic growth.

The October Board Meeting of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) was held, focusing on strengthening Turkey’s international trade and creating new opportunities. Important topics were discussed in light of global economic dynamics, and steps were determined to ensure that Turkish businesses play a more active role on the international stage. The meeting emphasized increasing collaboration and partnerships, exploring new markets, and contributing to Turkey’s economic vision.

The meeting was also attended by Christian Wulff, the 10th President of the Federal Republic of Germany and Chairman of the German-Turkish Business Council. In his speech, Mr. Wulff highlighted the importance of strengthening commercial relations between Turkey and Germany and creating new business opportunities between the two countries.

A workshop of the DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board) Foreign Exchange-Earning Services Working Group was organized, with Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Board Member of DEİK, participating in the event.

During the workshop, the current status of Turkey in this sector and future opportunities were evaluated. Topics such as sustainability, new service areas, and the reshaping of workforce needs were discussed. The importance of not only staying competitive in existing markets but also creating new market opportunities and taking strong steps in this direction was emphasized.

Following the workshop, the DEİK Foreign Exchange-Earning Services Working Group’s Executive Board Meeting for October was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. The meeting, which was attended by company representatives from various sectors, focused on addressing the current problems and proposing solutions for these sectors, as well as discussing the future activities of the Working Group and strategies to enhance Turkey’s potential in foreign exchange-earning services. Key decisions were made regarding projects to increase access to international markets and in line with the 2025 targets.
