The fortieth session of the conference series titled “Conversations with Trade Advisors by HIB” organized online by the Services Exporters Association (HİB) operating under the umbrella of the Turkey Exporters Assembly (TİM) was held on January 31, 2024, with a focus on Uzbekistan.

The online program, which began with an opening speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Vice President of the HİB Board of Directors, continued with presentations by Ahmet Melih Horata, the Trade Advisor in Tashkent, and Abdullah Keskin, Deputy Secretary-General of HİB.

Presentations containing detailed information about Uzbekistan covered topics such as the general economic outlook, investments, foreign trade, Turkey-Uzbekistan bilateral trade, and the service sectors. Following the presentations, questions from representatives of participating companies were answered.

The Evaluation Meeting of Services Exporters Association (HIB), operating under the umbrella of the Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM), was hosted by Sekib Avdagiç, the Chairman of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO).

The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Vice President of HIB, Salih Zeki Çakır, and Mehmet Erdoğan, the Treasurer of HİB. Held at the headquarters of ITO, discussions were held on the activities for the new period, current issues in various sectors and proposed solutions to these problems.

Services Exporters Association (HIB) held its board meeting for the month of January. The meeting, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, Sezai Uçarmak, and the Chairman of HİB, Şekib Avdagiç, was attended by board members as well.

During the meeting, evaluations regarding service exports were made, and discussions were held on sectoral issues. Additionally, there was an exchange of ideas about solution proposals for addressing current problems.

Service Exporters’ Association (HİB) operating under the umbrella Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) Vice President and HİB Education Services Committee President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın participated in HİB Education Services Committee December meeting held online.

Under the presidency of Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, education committee members and university representatives also participated in the meeting.  International student recruitment practices evaluated and current problems and solution offers were mentioned.

Service Exporters’ Association (HİB)operating under the umbrella of Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) hold its December Board meeting.

Under the presidency of HİB President Şekib Avdagiç, to the meeting Vice Minister of Trade Ö. Volkan Ağar and UHTİ General Manager Tarık Sönmez also participated.

Current problems were discussed and effective solution offers for the current problems proposed for the agenda evaluated at the meeting.

HIB Agency Accreditation Committee held its meeting of Service Exporters’ Association operating under the umbrella of Türkiye Exporters Assembly. At the meeting, bringing the agency services of service exporters to a certain standard and increasing the efficiency of the services were discussed.

Under the presidency of HİB Vice President and Education Services Committee President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın and with the participation of Ministry of Trade International Services Trade General Manager Tarık Sönmez, HİB General Secretary Dr. Fatih Özer and representatives of Ministry of Trade and education, health, tourism sectors also attended to the meeting. Sector representatives shared their experiences in the agency process and foreseen legislative arrangements within Ministry of Trade were discussed at the meeting.

The 38th session of conference series titled “HİB Interviews with Commercial Counsellors” coordinated online by Service Exporters’ Association operating under the umbrella of Türkiye Exporters Assembly, was held on 15th November 2023 with “Sweden”.

The online program started with the opening speech of HİB Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın and continued with the presentations of Bern Commercial Principal Consultants Cumali Semeğir and Osman Nuri Beyhan.

Presentations including detailed information on service export were made by Bern Commercial Principal Consultant. After the presentations, the questions from representatives of participating companies were answered.

5TH SERVICE EXPORTERS AWARD CEREMONY TOOK PLACE

With the participation of T.R. Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) President Mustafa Gültepe, Turkish Airlines (THY) President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, Service Exporters’ Association (HİB) President Şekib Avdagiç, HİB Vice Presidents Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın and Salih Zeki Çakır, HİB Members and representatives of the business World, the 5th Service Exporters’ Association Award Ceremony where the 2022 Export Champions were announced, took place.

HİB awarded the institutions with the highest exports of 2022 at the ceremony. Becoming the 2022 education export champion in the category of education services, Istanbul Aydın University was granted the first prize.

In his speech at the ceremony T.R. Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat said “As you know, climate change with green transformation, rapid growth in digital technology, pandemics and migrations, the aging population and the new demands of the rising generation have great opportunities in the field of services and the styles of provide service. While service exports in the world grew at an average annual rate of 4.5% in the last 10 years, it grew at a rate of 7.3% in Turkey. We are pleased that the service sector is transforming its potential to export and to see the fruits of the investment.”

IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın visited Cairo with Turkish Trade Delegation led by T.R. Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat and coordinated by Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM).

Within the scope of Egypt contacts, visiting Yunus Emre Institute Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın made evaluations on the situation of Egypt higher education and international students works between two countries with Cairo Education Counsellor Prof. Dr. İbrahim Aslan. He had a meeting with Cairo Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Emin Boyraz about 360-degree education.

Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın participated Türkiye-Egypt Business Forum organized by Turkish Exporters Assembly and the Federation of Egyptian Industries within the scope of International Manufacturing Fair inaugurated by the President of Egypt Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Hosting in the IAU stand in the fair T.R. Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Cairo University academicians and business people who are entrepreneurs in the field of education collaborations, he had comprehensive meetings about education collaborations between the two countries. Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın gave information to Egypt Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir Saleh and T.R. Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat about the work on Egypt-Türkiye University planned to be established in Cairo. He said “We will continue to work to achieve greater success by developing new projects with the cooperation between the two countries.”

Prof. Mustafa Aydın got together with Türkiye-Egypt Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman and AKP Parliamentarian Prof. Dr. Mehmet Şahin and Türkiye-Egypt Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Member and MHP Parliamentarian Prod. Dr. İlyas Topsakal, T.R. Cairo Military Attache Colonel Ahmet Tosun.

The online program started with the opening speech of HİB Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın and continued with the presentation of Dakar Commercial Counsellor Salih Zeki Erdal and the participation of HİB Deputy General Secretaries Üzeyir Işık and Abdullah Keskin.

After the presentations including detailed information on service export by Dakar Commercial Counsellor, evaluations on service sectors were made. After the presentations, the questions from representatives of participating companies were answered.
