ISTANBUL AYDIN UNIVERSITY TRADITIONAL IFTAR WAS HELD

İstanbul Aydın University Traditional İftar Meal was held at T Block Atrium hosted by İAÜ President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın.

IAU Rector Prof. Dr. Yadigar İzmirli, Vice-Rectors, Deans, Heads of Departments, administrative staffs, IAU alumni, student clubs, students and international students, BİL Colleges, UFRAD members, TSSD Board Members, City Council and KAGED members attended the iftar.

IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, in his speech made at the iftar meal which attracted intensive attention, said that “Thanks to God for being together again with you, our friends in traditional iftar meal on the 20th anniversary of our university. As IAU, we are a very strong family. I would like to congratulate your Ramadan whose 15th day we left behind today, thank all guests for honoring us by accepting our iftar invitation and wish you all a Happy Ramadan.”

UFRAD 16TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY WAS HELD

Turkish Frachising Association 16th General Assembly was held at Istanbul Aydın University under the presidency of UFRAD President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın. In the meeting, evaluations on annual reports and budget planning were made. After that, the new period of directors and supervisory board selections were made.

After the presentation of UFRAD Communication Coordinator İrem Arman, Council Committee and Board Members made their speeches. President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın made the following determinations in his speech: “UFRAD has been supporting the transfer of the dynamics of successful brands to the entrepreneurial spirit since 1991. It contributes to being guided our country’s investors toward branding, encouraging local brands to gain a place in international markets and has a chance to compete. I would like you to know, as UFRAD, we are always with our brands, as we have been up to now. We are your biggest defender and stronger supporter. Together, we will print with golden letters the Turkish brand’s names in the world markets. Hereby, I would like to congratulate the new directors and supervisory board members who were assigned to the 16th Ordinary General Assembly and wish them continued success.”

TURKISH ANTI-SMOKING ASSOCIATION GENERAL ASSEMBLY WAS HELD

Turkish Anti-Smoking Association (TSSD) General Assembly was held in Istanbul Aydın University under the presidency of TSSD President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın. In the meeting, evaluations on annual report and budget planning were made. After, the new period of directors and supervisory board selections were made.

After the speeches of Council Committee and Board Members, President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın said “I would like to thank all my friends with whom we have been fighting together with great devotion since 1999 for the health of our society, for our youth to have clean tomorrows and for the future of our country. I would like to congratulate the new directors and supervisory board members who were assigned to the 23rd Ordinary General Assembly.”

ASSOC. PROF. MUSTAFA AYDIN VISITED THE EARTHQUAKE ZONE

Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın visited the earthquake zone bot to see the ‘Container Living Area’ which is the joint Project of İstanbul Aydın University, AKEV and International Blue Crescent Foundation, and to give moral support to earthquake victims.

Visiting the container living areas and tent cities in respectively Gaziantep-İslahiye, Gaziantep-Nurdağı, Hatay-Kırıkhan, Kahramanmaraş-Elbistan regions, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın came together with the earthquake victims. In addition, he visited ‘Education Camps’ in the region. On the second day of his visit, Aydın visited “Peace Shield Operations Area” Commander Major General Selami Arslan.

Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın who visited the educational institutions which are damaged by the earthquake visited Kırşehir Bil Collage after Kahramanmaraş Bil Schools and Kahramanmaraş Private Mesai Science High School, he received evaluations from teachers, students and managers about post-disaster education processes.

IAU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (IAUMED) CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE MEETING WAS HELD

İstanbul Aydın University Alumni Association (IAUMED) Consultative Committee Meeting was held. IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın mentioned the activities in the earthquake zone, aids by IAU and container living area in the meeting. He also shared the current information on how the work will continue in this process.

IAU Alumni participants introduced themselves and mentioned the aid made by their companies coordinately with IAU to the earthquake zone. Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın presented his thanks to the alumni for their support.

IAU Civil Air Transport Management Head of Department and the new IAUMED President Gülcan Güzel stated that they wanted to hold a face-to-face alumni summit while IAU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Reşat Başar said that all goals specified in the previous meetings were evaluated and most of the short-term goals were achieved. The “Alumni Platform “project was on the agenda in order to communicate with alumni faster, coordinate better and work more efficiently.

The breakfast meeting which THY and HİB President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat was the main speaker, was held hosted by IAU President and Service Exporters’ Association Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın in İstanbul Aydın University.

In the meeting that many academicians attended, making a presentation Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat shared the targets and development process of THY and HİB. At the end of the presentation, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın presented his thanks to particularly Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat and all participants.

Istanbul Aydın University March General Assessment Meeting was held with the participation of İAÜ President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, IAU Rector Prof. Dr. Yadigar İzmirli, vice-rectors, deans and administrative staff.

In the meeting started with the presentation of IAU International Office Assistant Specialist Sabire Berra Aydın, making evaluations on education after the earthquake disaster, and ideas on the work increasing the education quality were exchanged.

UNIMED GENERAL ASSEMBLY WAS HELD IN SPAIN

The General Assembly was held on the third day of the meetings of Mediterranean Universities Union in Spain. In the General Assembly that board members were selected and fruitful speeches and presentations about world higher education were made, Istanbul Aydın University was selected for the board of management again.

The preparatory works for the higher education meeting that will be held on November 2023 in Morocco were evaluated and necessary plans were made.

THE UNIMED CONFERENCE

In Granada University, Mediterranean Universities Union Conference was held with 150 attendants from 9 countries. After the opening speeches of Granada University Rector Pilar Aranda Ramirez, UNIMED President Francisco Matte Bonne and UNIMED General Secretary Hmaid Ben Aziza, many presentations in the simultaneous sessions were made.

UNIMED Board Member and İstanbul Aydın University President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın also made a presentation themed “The Role of Universities in Earthquakes and Natural Disasters”. In his presentation, he mentioned that the consequences of the earthquake disaster that took place in our country and involved many provinces on 6th February 2023, the impact of the earthquake on education and the work of IAU in the earthquake area.

In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın emphasized “It is essential that universities are not limited to desk job work in the projects in the field of disaster preparedness, joining the society to increase the interest of citizens, evaluate how good practices in this field in the world will be realized at the national level, develop functional projects and provide academic support in line with the vision they will ideally determine on how to prepare for disasters.”

At the end of the presentation, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın said “I present my gratitude UNIMED to bring us together today with the principle of strengthening academic alliances for peace and security and to Granada University which is the one of oldest and most established universities in the world for hosting this precious organization.”

On the first day of Spain UNIMED Meetings, Mediterranean Universities Union Board Meeting was held at Granada University. In the meeting, the previous meeting declarations were evaluated with the board members. In addition, the plans for the next period were discussed and necessary meetings on General Assembly preparations were made.
