Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, with the honorary presence of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, and the President of DEİK, Mr. Nail Olpak; with the participation of the Executive and Management Board Members, Founding Organization Presidents and Representatives, Business Council Presidents, and delegates, held the 4th He stated that participating in this ceremony was a great source of pride.
On this special day, Prof. Dr. Aydın stated that the pioneers who contributed to our country’s economic development were honored, emphasizing that a powerful message for the future was conveyed based on experience, vision, and loyalty.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, on behalf of DEİK President Nail Olpak, expressed gratitude to our President, who honored us with his participation in the General Assembly, to Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, to the Board Members, to the Business Council Presidents, to the delegates, to the General Secretariat, and to everyone who contributed to this successful organization. He stated that they will continue to work under the DEİK umbrella for a stronger Turkey.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Founding President of the Turkish Anti-Smoking Association, expressed his deep grief upon learning of the passing of the esteemed artist and valued colleague Mr. Selçuk Alagöz and issued a message of condolence.
Prof. Dr. Aydın wished the deceased artist God’s mercy, offered his condolences to his family and all his loved ones, and expressed his hope that “May he rest in peace.”
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın appeared as a guest on the “Education World” program hosted by Mr. Ahmet Tunahan Şimşek on A Haber.
During the program, Prof. Dr. Aydın conveyed the educational vision of Istanbul Aydın University, its international collaborations, the opportunities offered to young people, and its projects for the future in all their dimensions. He also emphasized the importance of the application process.
“It’s not just about choosing a university anymore, it’s about choosing a future,” said Prof. Dr. Aydın, emphasizing that while access to information has become easier, finding the right information is more valuable than ever.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, who constantly calls on young people to “gain skills, not just a degree,” stated that the future belongs only to those who can read today well.
“Choosing a university or department is not just about choosing a place to study; it is also about choosing who you will become and what kind of place you will take in the world,” said Prof. Dr. Aydın, emphasizing that young people should position themselves not only for today but also for tomorrow’s world and their journey to becoming global citizens.
Prof. Dr. Aydın stated that Istanbul Aydın University will continue to support young people on this journey.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, together with IAÜ Fashion Design Program Department Head Lecturer Nihal Bolkol, he reviewed the creative projects carried out by students on site and stated that these unique works, which educate the designers of the future, beautifully reflect the university’s vision of bringing together science, art, and innovative thinking.
Emphasizing that each student has developed their own style and produced work that has something to say to the world, Prof. Dr. Aydın warmly congratulated all the teachers and students behind the effort.
Istanbul Aydın University’s 20th Graduation Ceremony was held with great excitement at the end of the 2024-2025 academic year. During the ceremony, students experienced the joy of graduation together with their families, academics and friends, and emotional moments were also shared.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, President of Istanbul Aydın University, congratulated the graduating students and said, “Dear students, we are experiencing the indescribable pride of bringing you one step closer to your dreams. Today, you carry in your hands not only your diplomas, but also your years of hard work, patience, faith and hope. Every step you take on this campus, every friendship you establish, every knowledge you acquire will make you stronger in life from now on.”
Emphasizing that Istanbul Aydın University graduates are now part of a strong graduates chain, Prof. Dr. Aydın said, “You are now a link in the strong graduates chain of Istanbul Aydın University. We will always be honored to be a part of this family and we will proudly follow your achievements. It is also a source of great happiness for us that our graduates will spread not only all over Turkey but also to different geographies of the world.”
At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın renewed his belief in the students and said, “May your path always be open, your heart be brave, and your dreams be limitless. Your vision, dedication and human values will build the future of our country and the world. I believe in you sincerely and I am proud of each and every one of you. I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the values and efforts you have added to this big family.”
The 20th graduation ceremony of Istanbul Aydın University ended with young graduates proudly throwing their caps into the air.
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Higher Education Planning, Supervision, Accreditation and Coordination Board (YÖDAK) President Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın visited Istanbul Aydın University.
During the visit hosted by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, a fruitful discussion was held on the development of higher education systems, raising quality standards and strengthening academic cooperation between institutions.

The Global Sustainable Development Goals Congress, organized in cooperation with the Council of Higher Education and Times Higher Education, was held in Istanbul.
On the first day of the congress, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın came together with high-level figures such as YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, YÖK Vice President Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş, YÖK Executive Board Member Prof. Dr. Naci Gündoğan, Azerbaijan Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev, TRNC Minister of Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu, City University of Hong Kong President Freddy Boey and THE Global Director Phil Baty.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın attended the opening ceremony and pointed out the role of higher education in the context of global responsibilities and sustainable development goals. In the congress, where more than 5000 academic representatives took part, issues such as internationalization in higher education, cooperation in science, digital transformation and social contribution were discussed in many aspects.
Prof. Dr. Aydın emphasized that universities are not merely centers of knowledge production, but also leading actors of social transformation, and underlined inclusiveness, sustainability and innovative approaches in education. He thanked all stakeholders who contributed to the realization of this meaningful organization.
On the third day of the Global Sustainable Development Congress, the ideas that shape the future of higher education continued to meet in Istanbul. On this platform where knowledge, vision and global collaborations came together; common wisdom was produced around the ideal of a more equal, more livable and more sustainable world.
Different languages were spoken and different perspectives were shared. The common goal was to strengthen sustainable development with concrete steps in every field.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın also attended the congress, where important evaluations were made on the global responsibilities of higher education, the role of universities in transformation and collaborative development models. On the fourth and final day of the congress, not only productive sessions but also strong bonds, new projects and an inspiring vision of the future were emphasized.
At the end of the congress, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın thanked all the institutions, speakers and participants who contributed to the meaningful meeting and concluded by expressing his sincere belief that this global solidarity built together will continue to shape the future.
Küçükçekmece City Council Board of Directors June Meeting was held under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. At the meeting, projects that will improve the social and cultural life of Küçükçekmece and increase environmental awareness were discussed in detail.
During the meeting, current activities were evaluated, priorities for the next period were determined and new ideas to strengthen local participation were exchanged. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın emphasized the importance of sustainable projects for the benefit of society and stated that they will continue to produce with common sense and collaboration.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın hosted the Mayor of Fethiye, Mr. Alim Karaca at the university. During the meeting, which took place with the participation of academic leaders, projects to strengthen local government and university cooperation was discussed. In particular, important consensus was reached on joint studies that will contribute to the education, internship and social development processes of young people.
At the end of the visit, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın thanked Alim Karaca for his kind visit and welcoming approach to cooperation.
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın has been officially appointed as the new Rector of Istanbul Aydın University with the recommendation of the Board of Trustees, the approval of the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the decision of the President of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın expressed his heartfelt belief that Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın — a respected academic who has dedicated his career to science and education, shown strong responsibility towards his students, and earned great respect with his leadership experience — will carry Istanbul Aydın University’s vision even further, strengthening its commitment to universal values and quality, innovative education.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın also stated that Istanbul Aydın University continues to move forward with determination to become a leading higher education institution in science, technology, and human development, and that this mission will continue with even greater motivation under the leadership of the new Rector, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın.
He also thanked all former Rectors who contributed to the university’s development and wished Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın success in his new role.
