Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın visited Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). During the meeting, the Turkish-Arab University Rectors’ Congress, which will be held for the fifth time this year in Tunisia under the leadership of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in cooperation with the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) and the Arab Universities Union (AArU), was discussed with Ahmet Misbah Demircan, former Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism and Ambassador of Tunisia.

It was stated that this year’s congress, held under the theme “Transformation of Higher Education through Leadership, Innovation, and Regional Integration,” will bring together higher education institutions from Turkey and the Arab world under one roof once again, with the honorary presence of YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın emphasized that the strong ties to be established will not only increase academic productivity, but will also contribute to regional peace and development through educational diplomacy.

Prof. Dr. Aydın expressed his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), who has led the way in achieving international recognition, quality assurance, and collaborations through his vision and goals in the field of higher education.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated that the IAÜ 2025 Preference and Promotion Period, held between July 19 and August 13, was successfully completed this year with great interest from students. Prof. Dr. Aydın noted that academics, administrative staff, and volunteer students worked alongside prospective students, guiding them with great dedication, patience, and energy. He sincerely thanked all his colleagues who contributed to this process.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın congratulated all students joining the IAU family and expressed his hope that everyone would share the exciting feeling of new beginnings together.

During the program, Prof. Dr. Aydın conveyed the educational vision of Istanbul Aydın University, its international collaborations, the opportunities offered to young people, and its projects for the future in all their dimensions. He also emphasized the importance of the application process.

“It’s not just about choosing a university anymore, it’s about choosing a future,” said Prof. Dr. Aydın, emphasizing that while access to information has become easier, finding the right information is more valuable than ever.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, who constantly calls on young people to “gain skills, not just a degree,” stated that the future belongs only to those who can read today well.

“Choosing a university or department is not just about choosing a place to study; it is also about choosing who you will become and what kind of place you will take in the world,” said Prof. Dr. Aydın, emphasizing that young people should position themselves not only for today but also for tomorrow’s world and their journey to becoming global citizens.
