
DEIK Board Member Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın participated in the 4th DEIK Italy-Türkiye Business Forum held in Rome as part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Italy.

Organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), this important platform, which aims to move the economic relations between the two countries forward, started with bilateral business meetings. The forum offered a strategic ground to increase the sustainable trade volume between Türkiye and Italy and to create new business opportunities.
As part of the program, DEIK and Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo signed the first memorandum of understanding to promote the internationalization of Italian businesses operating in Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated that this significant step lays the foundation for long-term and sustainable economic cooperation not only for the two countries but also for the region as a whole.

The forum also featured sector panels in strategic areas such as infrastructure, sustainable energy, circular economy, advanced manufacturing, global hubs and connectivity, and defense industry. The event continued with the opening speeches of Mr. Mustafa Tuzcu, Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye and Mr. Edmondo Cirielli, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın also met with the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the forum. This summit, which took place with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Meloni, marked a new era in the economic relations between the two countries.
