The 3rd International Rehabilitation and Health Sciences Conference was held at Istanbul Aydın University, organized in collaboration with the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) and Pakistan Superior University. The opening ceremony was attended by the Consul General of Pakistan in Istanbul, Khawaja Khurram Naeem, alongside faculty members and students from both Superior University and Istanbul Aydın University.
Organized on the foundation of scientific collaboration, friendship and shared values, the conference contributed to strengthening academic and cultural ties between Türkiye and Pakistan—two brother countries. Steps to deepen cooperation in education, science and culture were discussed, highlighting that ongoing collaborations will empower students internationally and open new pathways for joint projects.
The Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) convened its November Board Meeting, where ongoing scientific collaborations, joint projects and academic solidarity initiatives with universities across the Eurasian region were comprehensively reviewed. Efforts to strengthen inter-university interaction were discussed, and the roadmap for the upcoming period was outlined. Emphasis was placed on the importance of academic activities that transcend borders and bring together different languages and cultures. The meeting concluded with a commitment to further academic cooperation and collective production for a stronger Eurasian academic community.
The Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) held its September Board of Directors meeting, chaired by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. During the meeting, the goals of strengthening regional and global higher education cooperation were evaluated, and projects to be implemented and events planned for the coming period were discussed. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın emphasized at the meeting that work would continue with determination in line with the vision of “Stronger tomorrows through unity and solidarity in education.”
The Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) Board of Directors held its August meeting, chaired by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. The meeting evaluated ongoing efforts to strengthen educational diplomacy and projects for the upcoming period.
In addition, the preparation process for the Eurasian Higher Education Summit (EURIE 2026), to be held on April 7-9, 2026, was discussed in its all aspects. Prof. Dr. Aydın stated that steps to further advance global academic collaborations are being planned.
Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) successfully held its July Executive Board meeting under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. During the meeting, the goals of further strengthening cooperation in the field of higher education at regional and global level were evaluated.
While the members of the Board of Directors exchanged ideas on the projects planned to be implemented in the coming period, the preparation process of the Eurasian Higher Education Summit – EURIE 2026, which will be held on April 7-9, 2026, was also discussed comprehensively.
The meeting also emphasized that the increasing collaboration under the roof of EURAS plays an important role in uniting universities in Eurasia around a common vision.
The June Executive Board Meeting of the Eurasian Universities Association (EURAS) was led by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. At the meeting, new period strategies that will adapt to the rapid changes in the world were discussed comprehensively.
At the meeting, projects aimed at enhancing collaboration among member universities on a regional and global scale were evaluated, and a road map was created for joint initiatives that will shape the education of young people.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın highlighted the importance of studies aiming excellence in education and based on sustainable cooperation, and emphasized that universities under the roof of EURAS should move forward with determination in line with this vision.
The Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) May Board Meeting was held on May 13, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. During the meeting, current projects and international cooperation activities were discussed in detail. Prof. Dr. Aydın emphasized the importance of building stronger academic partnerships both in the region and globally.
After the meeting, Prof. Dr. Aydın said, “We are continuing our journey with determination to build a strong academic bridge from Eurasia to the world.” He also stated that EURAS will keep working on new strategic projects to strengthen cooperation among member universities.
Istanbul Aydın University and Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın attended the Eurasian Universities Association (EURAS) Academy Joint Program hosted by Amirkabir University of Technology during his visit to Iran. The program, which was attended by 13 leading universities of Iran, emphasized the importance of acting with a sense of social responsibility as well as academic cooperation. The program offered an important platform at the international level with the aim of increasing the common impact in education and raising the leaders of the future.
During the meetings hosted by Prof. Dr. Alireza Rahaei, Rector of Amirkabir University of Technology, EURAS and Iranian universities discussed joint projects in strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, energy, aviation, industrial cooperation and science-technology parks. During the meetings, the commitment to further academic and technological cooperation between the universities of the two countries was confirmed once again.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın thanked all universities and participants who contributed to the organization of the program and pointed out that the key concept of the 21st century is “acting together”. He highlighted the importance of taking common steps that will give hope to young generations as Turkish and Iranian universities.
On the third day of the 10th Eurasian Higher Education Summit – EURIE 2025, EURAS April Executive Board Meeting was held in Istanbul under the presidency of EURAS President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın and with the participation of member universities. During the meeting, ongoing projects were evaluated, the status of existing collaborations was reviewed and ideas were discussed on strategic steps for the future. It was emphasized once again that EURAS will continue its journey of building a strong academic bridge from Eurasia to the world with the same dedication.
The closing session of EURIE 2025 brought together important actors of higher education. EURAS President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Postdam University Rector Prof. Dr. Florian Schweigert, Turkish-German University Consortium General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay and DAAD Secretary General Kai Sicks discussed the future of internationalization in higher education.
After the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Former President of TÜBİTAK and Rector of ITU, was presented with a special award in honor of EURIE’s 10th anniversary.
All academic stakeholders who contributed were thanked and wished to achieve many more successes together in this valuable platform that removes borders in education.
The Council of Higher Education of Republic of Türkiye (CoHE) Panel, which took place on the second day of the Eurasian Higher Education Summit – EURIE 2025, enlightened the present and future of higher education with the participation of experts in their fields.
The panel was moderated by Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş, Deputy President of YÖK, with the participation of EURAS President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın. CoHE Executive Board Member Prof. Dr. Naci Gündoğan, CoHE Member Prof. Dr. Derviş Karaboğa and CoHE International Relations Director Mustafa Efe took part in the panel with their speeches. The panel turned into a seminal meeting where knowledge and experiences were shared.
On the same day, a Türkiye-Malaysia Common Forum was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş, Deputy President of the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Türkiye (CoHE), with the presence of Minister of Education Malaysia Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, and with the participation of rectors of Turkish universities. The forum drew attention as an important step towards strengthening the cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.
Within the scope of the summit, meetings with delegations from Brazil, Poland, Romania, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, as well as officials from the German Education Agency DAAD, brought cooperation opportunities covering a wide range of topics from academic mobility to joint research projects, from student and academic exchange to workshops. These meetings also set the stage for the sharing of common values and global responsibilities.
Furthermore, the Eurasian Association of Universities (EURAS) Members Forum was also held with the participation of Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia. At the forum, important decisions were discussed in line with the goals of developing cooperation between universities in Eurasia and increasing the exchange of knowledge and experience.
All these events, hosted by Istanbul Aydın University, were one of the strong steps taken for a more fair and accessible academic world that goes beyond borders in higher education.
