The joint meeting of HİB Education-Tourism Committees was held at İstanbul Lütfü Kırdar Congress Center where EURIE 2023 was organized.
To the breakfast meeting was hosted by HİB Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Tourism Committee President Hediye Güral and committee members attended. After the meeting which intersectoral collaboration projects were evaluated, visiting the stand area with the committee members and meeting were held with the exhibitors.
EURIE 2023 participants and EURIE 2023 team came together at the gala dinner. In the event, receiving the participants’ opinions about the summit, a general assessment was carried out. At the end of the event, EURAS&EURIE and Istanbul Aydın University President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın presented his thanks to all participants.
As part of the 8th Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE), a networking event was organized with 34 representatives from 13 distinguished universities of Pakistan.
A delegation of experts from Pakistan’s higher education sector attended the event held at the Pakistan Pavilion at the EURIE 2023 fairground, chaired by the Pakistan Private Universities Association President Prof. Dr. Chaudry Abdul Rehman, and EURAS&EURIE President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın. It was discussed what kind of steps could be taken to further strengthen the strong ties under the umbrella of the Eurasian Universities Union. Important decisions were taken in many fields such as academic exchange programs and collaborations by meeting with university representatives participating in EURIE from different parts of the world.
EURAS&EURIE President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Educanada Authorities who had a booth in the 8th EURIE, and Consul General of Canada Tara Scheurwater came together at the lunch.
In the meeting, the projects related to academic collaborations and exchange programs were discussed and evaluated. At the end of the meeting Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın said “There are 2 countries Canada and Turkey have a success story in international education. We should share our experiences with each other about this subject. We always care to cooperation with Canadian institutions, we expect you to attend EURIE every year.” and he thanked the all participators.
EURAS Forum was held on the second day of the 8th Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE). EURAS members who came to İstanbul from different countries for EURIE 2023, made presentations about new developments in higher education.
During the efficient forum, an academic cooperation protocol was signed with the Brazilian Universities Association.
EURAS Executive Board members who met in İstanbul with the occasion of EURIE 2023, came together at the dinner. At the dinner meeting, Executive Board Members, who couldn’t come together for so long because of the Covid-19 outbreak, evaluated previous activities and shared their opinions. At the end of the dinner, EURAS&EURIE President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın said his wishes about EURAS’ new era and thanked the all participators who came together all around the world.
Eurasian Universities Union’s member Superior University which participated in the EURIE 2023 gave support to Anatolia Education and Culture Foundation (AKEV).
Pakistan Superior University President Chaudhry Prof. Dr. Abdul Rehman and The Rector Dr. Sumeyra Rehman made a donation to AKEV to be used for the needs of our earthquake victims, and with this donation, AKEV provided support to earthquake victims in the earthquake area.
“Imagine Tomorrow International Entrepreneurship and Innovation Event” was held for the fifth time between March 1-3, as part of the 8th Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE) 2023. After the EURIE 2023 opening ceremony which was hosted by the EURAS&EURIE President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Imagine Tomorrow’s opening ceremony was held with the protocol members who participated in the summit. After the ribbon cutting, the innovation products exhibited in 60 stands in the fairground were examined and information about the contents of the products was obtained from the entrepreneurs. Then, the awards of the winners of the competition were presented.
The winner of the competition was Ömer Kara with Bioclean, the second winner was Özen Özer with Ozztech and the third winners were Melih-Pelin Biçer with Kernel Dynamics and Emre Elmas with Blue Fuel & Green Hydrogen. Altındağ, Ataşehir-1, Avcılar, Aydın, Bahçelievler, Çamlıca, Kağıthane, Pendik Günışığı, Sakarya, Sancaktepe and Ümraniye Bil Campuses participated in the Imagine Tomorrow. Kağıthane BİL Colleges with “Oxicam” project, Çamlıca BİL Colleges with “Does Anyone Hear My Voice?” project, and Sakarya BİL Colleges with “Goodbye to Plastic and Hello to Insulation” project won prizes in the competition in the young entrepreneur category.
The 8th Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE) opening ceremony was held at İstanbul Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center with the theme of “Creating a coalition with Internationalization in Higher Education”. In EURIE 2023, which brought together 320 institutions from 72 different countries, 154 speakers were panelists.
In the ceremony which EURAS&EURIE President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın made an opening speech, President of the European University Association Michael Murphy, The Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities Amr Ezzat Salama, President of Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific Sabur Khan, President of the Service Exporters’ Association (HIB) and Turkish Airlines Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) Mustafa Gültepe, Vice President of Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş, and President of Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar were also speakers. President of TÜBİTAK Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Varank, Minister of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey Dr. Mehmet Muş, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu shared their best wishes about 8th Eurasia Higher Summit (EURIE) with video conferences.
After the speeches, the official opening was held with the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the protocol. In the fair, which there were 117 booths, they visited the booths one by one and had a talk with the participators, and took considerations about the summit. Mustafa Aydın, who shared the starting point and main goal of the EURIE journey at the opening of the summit, thanked all the participants, wishing that the 8th Eurasian Higher Education Summit would lead to new partnerships and academic collaborations.
Istanbul Aydın University President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın visited Roma La Sapienza University.
In the Roma La Sapienza University, established in 1300, placed at the top among world universities and raised seven Nobel laureate scientists, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın met with Rector, executives and Eastern European History Lecturer Prof Fabio L. Grassi. Prof. Aydın stated that during the meetings, there was a productive exchange of ideas on expanding the existing cooperation between the Sapienza University of Rome and IAU.
After the meetings, Aydın visited the campus and museums and shared her personal impressions with the university administrators.
