Eurasian Universities Union’s member Superior University which participated in the EURIE 2023 gave support to Anatolia Education and Culture Foundation (AKEV).
Pakistan Superior University President Chaudhry Prof. Dr. Abdul Rehman and The Rector Dr. Sumeyra Rehman made a donation to AKEV to be used for the needs of our earthquake victims, and with this donation, AKEV provided support to earthquake victims in the earthquake area.
“Imagine Tomorrow International Entrepreneurship and Innovation Event” was held for the fifth time between March 1-3, as part of the 8th Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE) 2023. After the EURIE 2023 opening ceremony which was hosted by the EURAS&EURIE President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Imagine Tomorrow’s opening ceremony was held with the protocol members who participated in the summit. After the ribbon cutting, the innovation products exhibited in 60 stands in the fairground were examined and information about the contents of the products was obtained from the entrepreneurs. Then, the awards of the winners of the competition were presented.
The winner of the competition was Ömer Kara with Bioclean, the second winner was Özen Özer with Ozztech and the third winners were Melih-Pelin Biçer with Kernel Dynamics and Emre Elmas with Blue Fuel & Green Hydrogen. Altındağ, Ataşehir-1, Avcılar, Aydın, Bahçelievler, Çamlıca, Kağıthane, Pendik Günışığı, Sakarya, Sancaktepe and Ümraniye Bil Campuses participated in the Imagine Tomorrow. Kağıthane BİL Colleges with “Oxicam” project, Çamlıca BİL Colleges with “Does Anyone Hear My Voice?” project, and Sakarya BİL Colleges with “Goodbye to Plastic and Hello to Insulation” project won prizes in the competition in the young entrepreneur category.
The 8th Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE) opening ceremony was held at İstanbul Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center with the theme of “Creating a coalition with Internationalization in Higher Education”. In EURIE 2023, which brought together 320 institutions from 72 different countries, 154 speakers were panelists.
In the ceremony which EURAS&EURIE President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın made an opening speech, President of the European University Association Michael Murphy, The Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities Amr Ezzat Salama, President of Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific Sabur Khan, President of the Service Exporters’ Association (HIB) and Turkish Airlines Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) Mustafa Gültepe, Vice President of Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş, and President of Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar were also speakers. President of TÜBİTAK Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Varank, Minister of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey Dr. Mehmet Muş, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu shared their best wishes about 8th Eurasia Higher Summit (EURIE) with video conferences.
After the speeches, the official opening was held with the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the protocol. In the fair, which there were 117 booths, they visited the booths one by one and had a talk with the participators, and took considerations about the summit. Mustafa Aydın, who shared the starting point and main goal of the EURIE journey at the opening of the summit, thanked all the participants, wishing that the 8th Eurasian Higher Education Summit would lead to new partnerships and academic collaborations.
Istanbul Aydın University President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın visited Roma La Sapienza University.
In the Roma La Sapienza University, established in 1300, placed at the top among world universities and raised seven Nobel laureate scientists, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın met with Rector, executives and Eastern European History Lecturer Prof Fabio L. Grassi. Prof. Aydın stated that during the meetings, there was a productive exchange of ideas on expanding the existing cooperation between the Sapienza University of Rome and IAU.
After the meetings, Aydın visited the campus and museums and shared her personal impressions with the university administrators.

Sapienza’dan açılış için gelen Uluslararası İlişkilerden Sorumlu Rektör Yardımcısı Prof. Bruno Botta, Proje Danışmanı Prof. Fabio Grassi, uluslararası ofis direktörü ve sorumlularından oluşan heyet İAÜ’de karşılandı. Açılışın ardından kampüsü gezen heyet üyeleri, İAÜ’nün yetkili isimleriyle karşılıklı fikir alışverişinde bulundu.
SAPIENZA UNIVERSITY OF ROME REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE OPENED IN IAU
Within the scope of the cooperation between Sapienza University of Rome and Istanbul Aydın University which are the members of Eurasian Universities Union-EURAS, representative office formal opening was held.
The delegation consisting of Deputy Rector for International Affairs Prof. Bruno Botta, Scientific Counsellor of the Desk Project Prof. Fabio Grassi, international affairs director and officers who came from Sapienza for the opening ceremony, welcomed at Istanbul Aydın University. After the opening ceremony, the members of delegation toured the campus and exchanged their ideas with the IAU authorized names.
Avrasya Üniversiteler Birliği (EURAS) ile eğitim ve danışmanlık hizmeti veren QILAA Consulting arasında iş birliği anlaşması gerçekleştirildi. QILAA Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz A. Rahman Al-Thani, imzalanan anlaşma kapsamında İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesini ziyaret etti.
İAÜ Mütevelli Heyet Başkanı Doç. Dr. Mustafa Aydın ve Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz A. Rahman Al-Thani; yurt dışı öğrenci temini ile ilgili gerçekleştirilecek iş birlikleri hakkında görüş alışverişinde bulunarak, ilgili anlaşmayı imzaladılar. Doç. Dr. Mustafa Aydın; yapılan anlaşma ile ilgili olarak, “Yaptığımız iş birliğinin, verimli çalışmalara vesile olmasını diliyoruz.” dedi.
A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WAS SIGNED BETWEEN EURAS AND QILAA
A cooperation agreement was signed between Eurasian Universities Union and QILAA Consulting which provides training and consultancy services. QILAA Chairman Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz A. Rahman Al-Thani visited İstanbul Aydın University within the scope of agreement.
IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın and Chairman Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz A. Rahman Al-Thani exchanged their views about possible collaborations on international student recruitment and signed related agreement. Concerning the agreement made, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın said “We hope that our cooperation will conduce to fruitful works.”
Merkezi İtalya’da bulunan Akdeniz Yerel ve Bölgesel Yönetimler İş Birliği Komitesi’nin (COPPEM) Genel Kurul Toplantısı, çevrimiçi olarak gerçekleştirildi. Yönetim Kurulu üyelerinin katıldığı toplantıda, 2021 yılı faaliyet raporu değerlendirildi ve 2022 yılına ait hedefler ile çalışma planları görüşüldü. Ayrıca üyelerin mevcut sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerileri ile bireysel değerlendirmeleri de alındı. Sırayla bütçe, eğitim çalışmaları, uluslararası ilişkiler, kültürel aktiviteler, yenilikçi yaklaşımlar, sürdürülebilirlik, fırsat eşitliği ve uygulamadaki projeler gibi çeşitli başlıklar üzerinde duruldu.
COPPEM Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi, Avrasya Üniversiteler Birliği (EURAS) Genel Bşk. Doç. Dr. Mustafa Aydın da toplantıya katılarak bireysel değerlendirmelerini paylaştı ve “Genel Kurul hazırlıklarını tamamlayarak yakın dönem faaliyet ve projelerimizi değerlendirdiğimiz toplantımızın, verimli sonuçlar doğurmasını temenni ediyorum.” dedi.
COPPEM GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING WAS HELD ONLINE
Euro Mediterranean Partnership of Local and Regional Authorities (COPPEM) in Italy General Assembly Meeting was held online. 2021 activity report was evaluated and targets and work plans for 2022 were discussed at the meeting Board of Directors Members attended. Also, members’ suggestions for solutions to problems and individual evaluations were also discussed. Various topics such as budget, educational studies, international relations, cultural activities, innovative approaches, sustainability, equal opportunity and projects in practice were discussed respectively.
COPPEM General Assembly Member, Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın participated the meeting and shared his individual evaluations and stated “I hope that our meeting, in which we completed the preparations for the General Assembly and evaluated our recent activities and projects, will bring productive results.”
İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi (İAÜ) Mütevelli Heyet Başkanı Doç. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Ürdün ziyareti sırasında İAÜ-Amman ofisinin açılış çalışmalarını da değerlendirdi. Ofisin açılmasıyla ilgili yapılacak hazırlıklar konusunda gerekli görüşmeler yapıldı ve ilgili altyapı çalışmaları başlatıldı.
Ürdün ziyareti kapsamında Akdeniz Üniversiteler Birliği (UNIMED), Avrasya Üniversiteler Birliği (EURAS) ve İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi (İAÜ) ile ilgili birçok görüşme yapan ve çalışma yürüten Doç. Dr. Mustafa Aydın; açılacak olan İAÜ-Amman Ofisinin, yürütülen uluslararası eğitim diplomasisine çok boyutlu bir katkı vereceğini belirtti.
NEGOTIATIONS WERE MADE FOR IAU AMMAN OFFICE OPENING PREPARATIONS
Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın evaluated the IAU Amman Office opening works during his Jordan visit. Necessary negotiations were made on the preparations for opening of the Office, and related infrastructure works were started.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın made many negotiations related to Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED), Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), and Istanbul Aydın University within his Jordan visit, and stated that the IAU-Amman Office to be opened will make a multidimensional contribution to the international education diplomacy.
Akdeniz Üniversiteler Birliğinin (UNIMED) temsilcileri, Ürdün’ün başkenti Amman’da gerçekleşen gala yemeğinde bir araya geldi. Akdeniz bölgesinden birçok üniversite temsilcisinin katıldığı yemeğe, İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi (İAÜ) Mütevelli Heyet Başkanı Doç. Dr. Mustafa Aydın da iştirak etti. Akdeniz Bölgesi’ndeki yükseköğretim potansiyeline ve eğitim sektöründeki hareketliliğe yönelik değerlendirmelerin yapıldığı buluşma toplantısı, gelecek döneme ilişkin proje tasarılarının paylaşılması ve birçok işbirliği fırsatı yaratması açısından da oldukça verimli geçti.
MEDITERRANEAN REGION UNIVERSITY REPRESENTATIVES GATHERED AT THE UNIMED GALA DINNER
Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED) representatives gathered in the gala dinner in Amman, the capital of Jordan. Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın participated at the dinner attended by many university representatives from Mediterranean Region. Evaluations were made regarding the higher education potential in the Mediterranean Region and the mobility in the education sector, project drafts for the next period were shared in the meeting, and also it was very productive in terms of creating many cooperation opportunities.

Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) President and President of the Eurasian Universities Association Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın has attended the event organized by Dr. Amr. Ezzat Salama, President of the Arab Universities Association, for him and his accompanying delegation as part of his Jordan-Amman contacts.
At the event which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the cooperation with the Eurasian Universities Association (EURAS) and IAU was discussed, and mutual goodwill wishes were made for the future.
