HIB Vice President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın attended the signing ceremony of the Export Academy Cooperation Protocol, which was held with the participation of the Minister of Trade, Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, and the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.

In this context, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated, “As part of the training and seminar programs organized by our Ministry of Trade to provide our exporters with a competitive edge in international markets, we have witnessed the establishment of the ‘Export Academy.’ This important step was taken to enhance the quality of the workforce in the field of foreign trade and to enrich educational content with support from the academic community. This signing ceremony has contributed to institutionalizing trade education in our country. The Export Academy will enhance our competitiveness in foreign trade and significantly contribute to training a qualified workforce. I hope that this cooperation between our Ministry of Trade and the Council of Higher Education will be the beginning of steps that will further elevate our country’s export potential.”

A productive meeting with Tunisian universities’ rectors was held with the participation of Tunisian Ambassador Ahmet Misbah Demircan and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, representing EURAS and the Service Exporters Association (HIB). The meeting included detailed discussions on collaborations in higher education, joint projects, and various future initiatives. Significant decisions were made to strengthen the ties between Tunisia and Türkiye in the field of education, with a focus on enhancing academic partnerships and student exchange programs. Opportunities for collaboration in research and development projects were also explored.

Following the meeting, a MOU was signed between Sfax University and Istanbul Aydın University. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated, “With the protocol signed with Sfax University, we have further strengthened our academic and scientific cooperation. This agreement will provide significant opportunities in areas such as joint research projects, student and faculty exchange programs, and cultural interactions. We are establishing a strong partnership that transcends borders, supporting scientific and academic development for both Türkiye and Tunisia.”

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Vice Chairman of the HIB Board of Directors, and Tunisian Ambassador Ahmet Misbah Demircan jointly inaugurated the OKTAMAM Fair.

During his speech at the Turkish Universities Fair held in Tunisia, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın emphasized that universities should have national and global goals in training qualified individuals who will become responsible citizens of Türkiye and the world.

In an interview at the fair, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın highlighted the significance of the “Study in Türkiye” brand, stating, “We inaugurated the Turkish Universities Fair with the participation of 20 of our universities in Tunisia. As the Service Exporters Association (HİB), we are working intensively to open new markets for our educational services and attract more international students to our country. I extend my gratitude to our Tunisian Ambassador Ahmet Misbah Demircan for his support and presence at this important event. Together, we are stepping towards a stronger future in education! Making our country an international attraction center in higher education and demonstrating the quality of our educational services is a national issue. Since 2010, we have increased the number of foreign students from 30,000 to 340,000 today. The role of our ‘Study in Türkiye’ brand has been crucial in this success. Through fairs, promotions, and events held in over 30 countries each year, we highlight our country’s strength in international education. According to UNESCO data, Türkiye is among the top ten countries for international student numbers. Our goal is to be among the top five countries supplying international students. Educational diplomacy is of critical importance for the future of our country!”

A briefing meeting on the “Regulation for Foreign Event Organizers” by the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TIM) and the Service Exporters Association (HIB) was conducted. The meeting was attended by Yusuf Karakaş, Deputy General Manager of International Service Trade at the Ministry of Trade, and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Vice Chairman of the HİB Board of Directors. The session provided information about the regulation concerning the authorization and evaluation of foreign event organizers. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated, “This regulation, an important step for increasing our service exports, will enable our sectors to be stronger and more effective internationally.”

The Executive Board meeting of the Education Services Committee of the Service Exporters Association (HIB) was conducted. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Vice Chairman of the HİB Board of Directors, participated in the meeting. During the session, strategic steps and plans were outlined. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated, “We focused on innovative approaches in education services and projects that will strengthen our position in the international market. Our committee is tirelessly working to enhance quality in education and strengthen our effectiveness internationally. We are fully committed to progress and growth!”

The 2023 Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the Service Exporters’ Association (HIB) was held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Bakırköy Hilton Hotel with the participation of member firms. The opening speech of the meeting was delivered by HIB President Şekib Avdagiç. Throughout the meeting, the activities of the association and service export data were discussed. Evaluations were made regarding current issues and proposed solutions, and ideas were exchanged. Subsequently, the agenda items of the general assembly were discussed, and the meeting concluded with the views and contributions of the members.

In April, the Board of Directors meeting of the Service Exporters’ Association (HIB) was held. Chaired by HIB President Şekib Avdagiç, the meeting was attended by Vice President and the President of the Education Services Committee Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, along with other board members.

During the meeting, assessments were made regarding various service sectors. Subsequently, discussions and brainstorming sessions were held on the topics listed on the meeting agenda. Views were expressed on current issues and proposed solutions were discussed.

The “Service Export Strategy Conference,” organized by the Service Exporters’ Association (HIB), took place from April 19th to 21st, 2024, with the attendance of Turkey Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Sakarya Governor Yaşar Karadeniz, TIM President Mustafa Gültepe, HIB President Şekib Avdagiç, as well as members of the Board of Directors and Committees.

The “Service Export Strategy Conference,” with a wide participation, featured opening speeches and presentations followed by discussions on the problems and solution proposals of service sectors, as well as short, medium, and long-term strategies. The problems and solution proposals of 10 sectors were thoroughly discussed with Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Deputy Minister of Trade Volkan Ağar, Director-General of Service Trade Tarık Sönmez, and relevant ministry officials.

HIB Vice President and the Education Services Committee President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın stated in his assessment at the end of the conference: “We discussed issues of common synergy and cooperation between committees. We made important decisions in inter-sectoral cooperation. At the end of the two-day conference, we evaluated our overall assessments and set our roadmap for service exports in the coming period. We are determining our strategies to further advance Turkey’s service exports. We express our gratitude to our esteemed Minister.”

The forty-second session of the conference series “Conversations with our Trade Counselors by HIB” was organized online by the Service Exporters’ Association (HIB) under the umbrella of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) on April 17, 2024, with a focus on Serbia.

The online program, which began with the opening speech by Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of HIB, continued with a presentation by Yasemin Yüce, Trade Counselor in Belgrade. Dr. Fatih Özer, the Secretary-General of HIB, and Deputy Secretary-General Üzeyir Işık also participated in the conversation.

The presentation by the Trade Counselor in Belgrade provided detailed information about the service sectors related to service exports. The presentations covered topics such as basic economic indicators of Serbia, international service trade, Turkey-Serbia Service Trade, and its sub-items. Following the presentations, questions from representatives of participating companies were answered.

Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Vice President of the HIB Board of Directors and Chairman of the Education Services Committee, the meeting aimed to facilitate productive discussions to determine strategic steps for the future of the sector and sustainability. Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın emphasized, “We continue to progress by strengthening our efforts to support sustainability.”
