THE 24TH SESSION OF “COMMERCIAL COUNSELOR INTERVIEWS” OF HİB WAS HELD

The 24th session of conference series titled “HİB Interviews with Commercial Counsellors” that coordinated online by Service Exporters’ Association which operates under the umbrella of Turkish Exporters Assembly, was held on 5th April 2023 with the theme of “Greece”.

The online program, which started with the opening speech of HİB Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, continued with presentations of Athens Commercial Counsellor Hamid Tatcı and Thessaloniki Commercial Attache Ahmet Erdoğan.

Including detailed information on service export in Greece in the presentations; the main economic outlook of Greece, Greece service export, Türkiye-Greece bilateral service trade, sector analysis, investment incentives in Greece subjects discussed. After the presentations, the questions from representatives of participating companies were answered.

HİB ENLARGED EDUCATION SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING WAS HELD

HİB Enlarged Education Services Committee Meeting was held under the presidency of Service Exporters’ Association Vice President and HİB Education Services Committee president Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın.

HİB General Secretary Dr. Fatih Özer, education committee members and sector representatives attended the meeting. At the meeting, the previous period’s activities were discussed. After all, current problems of the sector and solution offers were evaluated.

The 22th session of conference series titled “HİB Interviews with Commercial Counsellors” that coordinated online by Service Exporters’ Association which operates under the umbrella of Turkish Exporters Assembly, was held on 28th March 2023 with the theme of “Sweden”.

The online program, which started with the opening speech of HİB Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, continued with presentation of Stockholm Commercial Counsellor Gökhan Örnek.

Including detailed information on service export in Italy in the presentations, information on service exports in Sweden and the political and demographic situations of Sweden were given place. In addition, macroeconomic indicators were shared and information on important sectors and companies was given. Information about product and service trade data in Sweden, bilateral trade between Turkiye and Sweden, foreign investor data and current investment opportunities were presented. After the presentations, the questions from representatives of participating companies were answered.

IAU TRADITIONAL BREAKFAST MEETING WAS HELD

The breakfast meeting which THY and HİB President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat was the main speaker, was held hosted by IAU President and Service Exporters’ Association Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın in İstanbul Aydın University.

In the meeting that many academicians attended, making a presentation Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat shared the targets and development process of THY and HİB. At the end of the presentation, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın presented his thanks to particularly Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat and all participants.

The online program, which started with the opening speech of HİB Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, continued with presentations of Roma Commercial Counsellor Selman Tokpunar, Milan Commercial Attaches Ahmet Erkan Çetinkayış and Ozan Murat Ergan.

Including detailed information on service export in Italy in the presentations, main economic indicators, Italy-Türkiye foreign trade data, mutual investments, sub-items of Italy service sector subjects discussed. After the presentations, the questions from representatives of participating companies were answered.

SERVICE EXPORTERS’ ASSOCIATION SOFTWARE-IT SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING WAS HELD

Software and IT Services Consultation Meeting was held hosted by THY and HİB President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, with the participation of HİB Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın and Salih Zeki Çakır, Treasurer Member Mehmet Erdoğan, Board Member İlhan Bağören, Software and IT Services committee members and leading company representatives of the industry.

In the meeting, subjects such as intersectoral collaboration possibilities, projects that can be carried out in earthquake zone, sectoral problems and solution offers were discussed. Qualified man power that needed by the sector was put on the agenda. Cooperation possibilities of education and other service sectors were evaluated for the solution of the problem.

The joint meeting of HİB Education-Tourism Committees was held at İstanbul Lütfü Kırdar Congress Center where EURIE 2023 was organized.

To the breakfast meeting was hosted by HİB Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Tourism Committee President Hediye Güral and committee members attended. After the meeting which intersectoral collaboration projects were evaluated, visiting the stand area with the committee members and meeting were held with the exhibitors.

The zoom meeting with T.R. Ministry of Trade was held under the presidency of Services Exporters’ Association Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın and T.R. Ministry of Trade International Service Trade General Director Dr. Emre Orhan Öztelli.

T.R. Ministry of Trade International Service Trade Deputy Director General Çiğdem Şamiloğlu Erkoç, T.R. Ministry of Trade International Service Trade General Directorate Education and Innovative Services Department Head Dr. Fatih Aydın and HİB General Secretary Dr. Fatih Özer also attended the meeting which discussed the activities on education. Within the scope of the meeting, consultations about education services supports and current system operation were held.

The board meeting of Services Exporters’ Association which operates under the umbrella of Turkish Exporters’ Assembly was held on 13th February 2023. To the meeting that held under the presidency of HİB President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat; HİB Vice Presidents Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın and Salih Zeki Çakır, HİB Treasurer Member Mehmet Erdoğan and the other board members attended.

At the meeting, discussing the sector problems and solution offers for the current issues and the plans for the recent period were made.

HIB COMMITTEE MET WITH VENEZUELA PRESIDENT

On the last day of the visit of HİB Committee which is under the presidency of T.R. Minister of Commerce Dr. Mehmet Muş, met with Minister of Culture Ernesto Villegas and authorities of the Ministry of Higher Education. After, a meeting was held with Venezuela President and his delegation.

In the meetings, current data relating to all sectors of service export were obtained and ideas about the initiatives that will take the bilateral relationship much further were exchanged.
