At Istanbul Aydın University, “Academic Motion Action Plan Search Conference” was held with participation of IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, board of trustee members, rector, vice-rectors, deans, executive and academic staff.
Evaluating the travelled distance in the process of agile transformation, ideas were exchanged in order to move forward the reached point.
Sharing his evaluations at the end of the workshop, IAU President Mustafa Aydın said “We evaluated how we can achieve better with our university administration, academic and administrative staff, and discussed the solution proposals. Thank you to everyone who contributed. Everything is for our students.”
Education Services Meeting of Service Exporters’ Association which operates under the umbrella of Turkish Exporters Assembly was held on 23th December 2022 at TİM Foreign Trade Complex.
To the meeting which held under the presidency of HİB Vice President and Education Services Committee President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, HİB General Secretary representatives and committee members attended.
Previous meeting declarations were discussed and action plans for 2023 year of HİB Education Committee and solution offers for current problems of international student recruitment process were evaluated.
Turkish Franchising Association Board and Round Table Meeting held with participation of UFRAD President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, the representatives of Turkish lead brands and TÜYAP Fairs General Manager İlhan Ersözlü. The previous meeting declarations, plans and preparations for 2023 and new collaborations were evaluated at the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting where ideas were exchanged about sectoral developments, UFRAD President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın summarized the current situation of the franchise sector in Turkey and talked about plans for the sector. Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın emphasized brands have to be globalization and he said, “We predict participation of more than 250 local and foreign brands from 40 different sectors and local and foreign visitors more than 20 thousand from 30 countries. We prepared all necessary infrastructure and our roadmap to be able to achieve this near target. Today as UFRAD, with the acceleration we given to our franchising sector which has business capacity of 50 billion, we believe that our sector will continue to be the one of important wheels of our economy in coming years.”
Coming together for the dinner after the round table meeting, UFRAD members mentioned their pleasure with the program’s efficiency and they expressed their gratitude to UFRAD President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın for this useful organization which came together hundreds of brands from different sectors countrywide.
Enlarged Küçükçekmece City Council Board meeting was held on 21th December 2022 hosted by İstanbul Aydın University.
The dinner meeting titled “Problems in Our District and Their Solutions” was held with participation of Küçükçekmece City Council President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Küçükçekmece Mayor Kemal Çebi, Deputy Mayor and City Council General Secretary Faysal Güler, District Security Director Gökhan Bambal, District Director of National Education Murat Gözütok, Küçükçekmece local authorities, City Council Executive Committee Members. They mentioned the general problems of neighborhood and solutions.
Listening the current problems in neighborhood Küçükçekmece Mayor Kemal Çebi said, “City Council is a life vein of a city. Therefore, it should be collimator and follower. We hope that we will take steps that will improve our city with local authority, public enterprises and NGO’s together. At the end of the meeting in his assessment, Küçükçekmece City Council President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın emphasized working in unity and solidarity, expressed his gratitude to all participants especially Küçükçekmece Mayor Kemal Çebi.
The 18th session of conference series titled “HİB Interviews with Commercial Counsellors” that coordinated online by Service Exporters’ Association which operates under the umbrella of Turkish Exporters Assembly, was held on 21th December 2022 with the theme of Tanzania.
The online program, which started with opening speech of HİB Vice President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, continued with presentation of Dar es Salaam Commercial Counselor Onur Bilge.
In the presentation, which includes detailed information on service export in Tanzania; was given place to various subjects such as general economic data of Tanzania, foreign trade and social security practices, taxes, investment areas, incentives, logistic infrastructure, staple commodities in exportation. After the presentation, the questions from representatives of participating companies were answered.
Education services cooperation protocol signed between Turkish Airlines and Service Exporters’ Association, which operates under the umbrella of Turkish Exporters Assembly.
The launching meeting of cooperation protocol signed on 20 December 2022 in THY Head Office was held with the participation of THY Board of Management and Executive Committee and HİB President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat and HİB Vice President and Education Services Committee President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın.
With signed protocol was aimed to increase the education services export which foreign exchange inflow to the economy and has big importance with its contribution as a soft power factor. HİB Vice President and Education Services Committee President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın stated that strategic cooperation with THY has importance in terms of gaining more international students to our country and ensuring that international students and their parents have advantageous flight opportunities.
In his assessment on the subject, “We organize fairs, promotions and activities with our “Study in Türkiye” brand every year in more than 20 destination countries and we aim to get higher our service export income in this way. We are working hard for Turkey to achieve its goal of being a country with qualified knowledge and manpower, and to become into a regional education base. This cooperation with THY is also an important step to close us to our goals. Therefore, to speak, our national carrier THY will soon fly education. Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude to whole THY family, particularly Dear President Ahmet Bolat, and to everyone who contributed to actualized the cooperation between us.” said Aydın stated that “raising the student quality” and “enhancing the international academician mobility” are among their goals.
After Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, speaking HİB President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat said “THY is making serious effort for not only transportation, but also for the point of promotion of our country. I believe that this protocol we signed today, will be a big power for education services export. I hope this step will be beneficial for our country and service exporters.”
The conference with the theme of “Local and regional authorities: strategies to strengthen Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in the context of the current epochal changes” of Standing Committee Euro Mediterranean Partnership of the Local and Regional Authorities (COPPEM) was held in Italy. The fruitful presentations contained many political and social issues such as cultural changes, refugee and migration problems in the world, racism problems, Ukraine and Syria crisis, climate change, gender equality, human and woman rights, peace processes in the world at the conference which held in Palermo, Regional Assembly of Sicily.
Many participants such as IAU President and COPPEM Board Member Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, President of Antimafia Commission, President of the Regional Assembly of Sicily, COPPEM President Adly Hussein, COPPEM General Secretary Francesco Sammarito, Regional Affairs of the Region Sicily and Archbishop took part in the conference.
COPPEM Board Member Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın made a speech titled “Mediterranean Region: Issues and Solution Offers through Education Diplomacy”. In his speech, mentioning the purpose of education diplomacy, environmental and social problems in the Mediterranean Region Aydın; uttered the need for economic and political stability in the region in his speech. In addition, Aydın, recording that gender equality, human rights and placing democracy, making an inclusive education and dialog culture is also essential, offered that through a developed “educational diplomacy” to be established in the fields of education and research, about the problems encountered by the Mediterranean region, reliable scientific evidence should be presented to the decision-makers, alternative projects and programs should be designed.
Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, at the end of his speech, drew attention “education diplomacy” notion and he said “Education diplomacy is a dynamic and strong tool that will positively impact our world. In this respect, we should stand behind activities that improve education and research territorially and all kinds of initiatives that will invigorate the international dimension of these activities.”
Istanbul Aydın University President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın visited Roma La Sapienza University.
In the Roma La Sapienza University, established in 1300, placed at the top among world universities and raised seven Nobel laureate scientists, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın met with Rector, executives and Eastern European History Lecturer Prof Fabio L. Grassi. Prof. Aydın stated that during the meetings, there was a productive exchange of ideas on expanding the existing cooperation between the Sapienza University of Rome and IAU.
After the meetings, Aydın visited the campus and museums and shared her personal impressions with the university administrators.
The launch of works written by history researcher Dr. Rinaldo Marmara, titled “La Casa Della Vergine Maria” and “turkey-Vatican [Pontificate] Through Diplomatic Relations” which is a documented catalog from Vatican archives and published by Istanbul Aydın University; was held in Rome hosted by Gregorian University.
İstanbul Aydın University Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Ambassador to Vatican Mr. Lütfullah Göktaş, S.E.R. Mons Lorenzo Piretto, Dean of Faculty of History and Cultural Heritage of the Church, Pontifical Gregorian University Prof Marek Inglot and P. Pio Murat also attended to the launch.
Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın said, “This book published by Istanbul Aydın University Press, contains important documents about the first years of Republic. Especially most of the documents about 19th and 20th century “Turkish history” are in Vatican archives in Italian and French. The purpose of our documented catalog prepared with the great effort of Dear Rinaldo Marmara, is to present the documents which have Turkish abstracts and references to the researchers via Istanbul Aydın University. I would like to thank again Dr. Rinaldo Marmara who is one of the few who can enter the hidden and private archives of Vatican and work in there for many years for creating this unique work and offering an insight into unknown pages of history. I would like to express my gratitude to him on behalf of our university, country and history which has many more unknown key points.”
IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, within the scope of his Italy contacts, visited the Embassy of Rome and had a meeting with Ambassador of Rome Mr. Ömer Gücük.
Visiting also Ambassador of Vatican Mr. Lütfullah Göktaş, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın had a fruitful exchange of ideas about higher education activities in Turkey and Europe. Expressing his thanks due to their hospitality, Aydın presented a plaque on behalf of Istanbul Aydın University.
