EURAS Forum was held on the second day of the 8th Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE). EURAS members who came to İstanbul from different countries for EURIE 2023, made presentations about new developments in higher education.
During the efficient forum, an academic cooperation protocol was signed with the Brazilian Universities Association.
EURAS Executive Board members who met in İstanbul with the occasion of EURIE 2023, came together at the dinner. At the dinner meeting, Executive Board Members, who couldn’t come together for so long because of the Covid-19 outbreak, evaluated previous activities and shared their opinions. At the end of the dinner, EURAS&EURIE President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın said his wishes about EURAS’ new era and thanked the all participators who came together all around the world.
Eurasian Universities Union’s member Superior University which participated in the EURIE 2023 gave support to Anatolia Education and Culture Foundation (AKEV).
Pakistan Superior University President Chaudhry Prof. Dr. Abdul Rehman and The Rector Dr. Sumeyra Rehman made a donation to AKEV to be used for the needs of our earthquake victims, and with this donation, AKEV provided support to earthquake victims in the earthquake area.
“Imagine Tomorrow International Entrepreneurship and Innovation Event” was held for the fifth time between March 1-3, as part of the 8th Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE) 2023. After the EURIE 2023 opening ceremony which was hosted by the EURAS&EURIE President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Imagine Tomorrow’s opening ceremony was held with the protocol members who participated in the summit. After the ribbon cutting, the innovation products exhibited in 60 stands in the fairground were examined and information about the contents of the products was obtained from the entrepreneurs. Then, the awards of the winners of the competition were presented.
The winner of the competition was Ömer Kara with Bioclean, the second winner was Özen Özer with Ozztech and the third winners were Melih-Pelin Biçer with Kernel Dynamics and Emre Elmas with Blue Fuel & Green Hydrogen. Altındağ, Ataşehir-1, Avcılar, Aydın, Bahçelievler, Çamlıca, Kağıthane, Pendik Günışığı, Sakarya, Sancaktepe and Ümraniye Bil Campuses participated in the Imagine Tomorrow. Kağıthane BİL Colleges with “Oxicam” project, Çamlıca BİL Colleges with “Does Anyone Hear My Voice?” project, and Sakarya BİL Colleges with “Goodbye to Plastic and Hello to Insulation” project won prizes in the competition in the young entrepreneur category.
The 8th Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE) opening ceremony was held at İstanbul Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center with the theme of “Creating a coalition with Internationalization in Higher Education”. In EURIE 2023, which brought together 320 institutions from 72 different countries, 154 speakers were panelists.
In the ceremony which EURAS&EURIE President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın made an opening speech, President of the European University Association Michael Murphy, The Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities Amr Ezzat Salama, President of Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific Sabur Khan, President of the Service Exporters’ Association (HIB) and Turkish Airlines Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) Mustafa Gültepe, Vice President of Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş, and President of Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar were also speakers. President of TÜBİTAK Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Varank, Minister of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey Dr. Mehmet Muş, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu shared their best wishes about 8th Eurasia Higher Summit (EURIE) with video conferences.
After the speeches, the official opening was held with the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the protocol. In the fair, which there were 117 booths, they visited the booths one by one and had a talk with the participators, and took considerations about the summit. Mustafa Aydın, who shared the starting point and main goal of the EURIE journey at the opening of the summit, thanked all the participants, wishing that the 8th Eurasian Higher Education Summit would lead to new partnerships and academic collaborations.
EURIE Danışma Kurulu Toplantısı, 4 Nisan 2022 tarihinde gerçekleştirildi. İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi Mütevelli Heyet Başkanı Doç. Dr. Mustafa Aydın’ın başkanlığında gerçekleşen toplantıya; T.C.Kültür ve Turizm Bakan Yardımcısı Ahmet Misbah Demircan’ın yanı sıra EURIE paydaşlarından TÜBİTAK Başkanı Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, TİM Başkanı İsmail Gülle, Yeditepe Üniversitesi, İstanbul Üniversitesi, Marmara Üniversitesi, İstanbul Ticaret Üniversitesi ve Altınbaş Üniversitesi rektörleri de katıldı.
Hem iftar yemeği hem de toplantı şeklinde gerçekleşen organizasyonda EURIE 2022’nin değerlendirmesi yapıldı, bir EURAS markası olan EURIE’nin gelecek dönem hedefleri görüşüldü. Mevcut projelerin son durumlarına ilişkin fikir alışverişinde bulunularak planlanan faaliyetlere ilişkin hazırlıklar konuşuldu, genel sorunlar ve çözüm önerileri değerlendirildi, tanıtım faaliyetleriyle ilgili çalışmalar gözden geçirildi. Toplantı, EURIE başarısının gelecekte daha da ileri noktalara taşınabilmesiyle ilgili dilek ve temennilerle son buldu.
EURIE PARTNERS CAME TOGETHER AT THE ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
EURIE Advisory Board meeting was held on 2022, April 4. Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture Ahmet Misbah Demircan, the partners of EURIE, Rectors of Yeditepe University, İstanbul University, Marmara University, İstanbul Ticaret University, Altınbaş University, the President of TUBITAK Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and the President of TİM İsmail Gülle attended to the meeting where hosted by İstanbul Aydın University President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın.
EURIE 2022 was evaluated and ongoing EURIE activities discussed in the organization took place both in the form of an iftar dinner and a meeting. EURIE Advisory Board exchanged their opinions about final situations of current projects, talked about preparations of planned activities and evaluated problems and solutions. In addition, they reviewed studies on advertising activities.
The meeting ended with wishes and requests to move further for the success of EURIE in the future.

EURIE 2022’de ‘keynote speaker’ olan, Astra Zeneca aşısının mucitlerinden Prof. Dr. Arturo Reyes Sandoval’ın rektörlüğünü yürüttüğü National Team Polytechnic Institute ile İAÜ arasında akademik iş birliği protokolü imzalandı.
Meksika’nın önde gelen üniversitelerinden National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) ile imzalanan akademik iş birliği protokolü kapsamında, IPN Genel Direktörü Prof. Arturo Reyes Sandoval da heyetiyle İAÜ’yü ziyaret etti.
Ziyaretinde İAÜ öğretim üyelerine ‘üniversitelerin araştırma ve inovasyon kapasitelerini artırma’ konusunda bir seminer de veren Prof. Sandoval, akademisyenlerle tecrübelerini paylaştı.
Dünyada çığır açan aşı çalışmalarıyla tanınan bir virolog olan Prof. Dr. Sandoval, imzalanan protokol sonrasında İAÜ Mütevelli Heyeti Başkanı Doç Dr. Mustafa Aydın ile ortak projeler ve öğrenci-öğretim elemanı değişim programları noktalarında karşılıklı görüş alışverişinde bulundu.
THE MOU SIGNED BETWEEN ISTANBUL AYDIN UNIVERSITY AND NATIONAL TEAM POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE
The mou signed between İstanbul Aydın University and National Team Polytechnic Institute (IPN) Rector Prof. Dr. Arturo Reyes Sandoval who was the “Keynote Speaker” in EURIE 2022 as one of the inventors of Astra Zeneca vaccination.
The general director of IPN Prof. Dr. Arturo Reyes Sandoval and his delegation visited İstanbul Aydın University within the scope of signed protocol with IPN, that place is the one of the leading universities of Mexico.
Prof. Sandoval gave the seminar about “increasing the research and innovation capacities of universities” and shared his experiences with academicians.
A very-well known virologist thanks to his groundbreaking vaccine studies, Prof. Dr. Sandoval and the President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın exchanged their ideas about joint project and exchanged student-instructor programs.
Dünyanın üçüncü en büyük eğitim zirvesi olan EURIE’nin (Eurasia Higher Education Summit-Avrasya Yükseköğretim Zirvesi) 7.si gerçekleştirildi. Pandemi döneminde çevrim içi yapılan, bu yıl ise hibrit olarak gerçekleşen zirveye 62 farklı ülkeden katılım oldu.
02.03.2022 günü İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi’nde açılışı yapılan 7. zirveye yüz yüze iştirak eden EURAS üyesi üniversitelerin temsilcileri, 04.03.2022 günü misafirler için düzenlenen özel akşam yemeğinde buluştu.
Kendilerini ve kurumlarını tanıtarak yükseköğretimin uluslararası boyutu ile ilgili görüş alışverişinde bulunan konuk temsilciler, zirveye yönelik bireysel değerlendirmelerini de paylaştılar.
Ev sahibi olan EURAS & EURIE Başkanı Doç. Dr. Mustafa AYDIN ise katılımcı üniversitelerin temsilcilerine tek tek teşekkür ederek, yükseköğretimin iletişim boyutunu son derece önemsediklerini ve bu iletişim ağlarını uluslararası arenada çok daha geniş zeminlere taşımayı hedeflediklerini belirtti.
EURIE GALA DINNER HELD TO THE UNIVERSITY REPRESENTATIVES WHO ATTEND THE EURIE 2022
The world’s third largest education summit, 7th EURIE (Eurasia Higher Education Summit) hosted 62 different countries at a hybrid setting.
Representatives of EURAS member universities participated face-to-face at the 7th summit which was held at Istanbul Aydın University on 02.03.2022. They met in organized special dinner on 04.03.2022.
The representatives introduced themselves and their institutions. They shared their individual evaluations for the summit by exchanging their views on the international dimension of higher education.
Host and President of EURAS & EURIE Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın thanked participant university representatives and attached great importance to higher education’s communication’s part by targeting to move the communication networks to much wider areas in the international era.

The 7th EURIE Opening Program (Eurasia Higher Education Summit) organized by EURAS (Eurasian Universities Union) and held as hybrid at Istanbul Aydin University Florya Halit Aydın Campus On March 2-4, 2022.
The summit welcomed more than 1000 participants representing 324 institutions from 62 different countries within the scope of the EURIE 2022 Summit program, also 60 online panels conducted.
