International Association of University Presidents Board Meeting was held. In the online meeting, university presidents and representatives from all over the world attended.
Previous term activities of International Association of University Presidents, of which Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın is also a board member, were evaluated and ideas on planning works for the next period were exchanged.
İstanbul Aydın University Traditional İftar Meal was held at T Block Atrium hosted by İAÜ President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın.
IAU Rector Prof. Dr. Yadigar İzmirli, Vice-Rectors, Deans, Heads of Departments, administrative staffs, IAU alumni, student clubs, students and international students, BİL Colleges, UFRAD members, TSSD Board Members, City Council and KAGED members attended the iftar.
IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, in his speech made at the iftar meal which attracted intensive attention, said that “Thanks to God for being together again with you, our friends in traditional iftar meal on the 20th anniversary of our university. As IAU, we are a very strong family. I would like to congratulate your Ramadan whose 15th day we left behind today, thank all guests for honoring us by accepting our iftar invitation and wish you all a Happy Ramadan.”
Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın visited the earthquake zone bot to see the ‘Container Living Area’ which is the joint Project of İstanbul Aydın University, AKEV and International Blue Crescent Foundation, and to give moral support to earthquake victims.
Visiting the container living areas and tent cities in respectively Gaziantep-İslahiye, Gaziantep-Nurdağı, Hatay-Kırıkhan, Kahramanmaraş-Elbistan regions, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın came together with the earthquake victims. In addition, he visited ‘Education Camps’ in the region. On the second day of his visit, Aydın visited “Peace Shield Operations Area” Commander Major General Selami Arslan.
Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın who visited the educational institutions which are damaged by the earthquake visited Kırşehir Bil Collage after Kahramanmaraş Bil Schools and Kahramanmaraş Private Mesai Science High School, he received evaluations from teachers, students and managers about post-disaster education processes.
İstanbul Aydın University Alumni Association (IAUMED) Consultative Committee Meeting was held. IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın mentioned the activities in the earthquake zone, aids by IAU and container living area in the meeting. He also shared the current information on how the work will continue in this process.
IAU Alumni participants introduced themselves and mentioned the aid made by their companies coordinately with IAU to the earthquake zone. Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın presented his thanks to the alumni for their support.
IAU Civil Air Transport Management Head of Department and the new IAUMED President Gülcan Güzel stated that they wanted to hold a face-to-face alumni summit while IAU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Reşat Başar said that all goals specified in the previous meetings were evaluated and most of the short-term goals were achieved. The “Alumni Platform “project was on the agenda in order to communicate with alumni faster, coordinate better and work more efficiently.
Istanbul Aydın University March General Assessment Meeting was held with the participation of İAÜ President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, IAU Rector Prof. Dr. Yadigar İzmirli, vice-rectors, deans and administrative staff.
In the meeting started with the presentation of IAU International Office Assistant Specialist Sabire Berra Aydın, making evaluations on education after the earthquake disaster, and ideas on the work increasing the education quality were exchanged.
“Imagine Tomorrow International Entrepreneurship and Innovation Event” was held for the fifth time between March 1-3, as part of the 8th Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE) 2023. After the EURIE 2023 opening ceremony which was hosted by the EURAS&EURIE President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Imagine Tomorrow’s opening ceremony was held with the protocol members who participated in the summit. After the ribbon cutting, the innovation products exhibited in 60 stands in the fairground were examined and information about the contents of the products was obtained from the entrepreneurs. Then, the awards of the winners of the competition were presented.
The winner of the competition was Ömer Kara with Bioclean, the second winner was Özen Özer with Ozztech and the third winners were Melih-Pelin Biçer with Kernel Dynamics and Emre Elmas with Blue Fuel & Green Hydrogen. Altındağ, Ataşehir-1, Avcılar, Aydın, Bahçelievler, Çamlıca, Kağıthane, Pendik Günışığı, Sakarya, Sancaktepe and Ümraniye Bil Campuses participated in the Imagine Tomorrow. Kağıthane BİL Colleges with “Oxicam” project, Çamlıca BİL Colleges with “Does Anyone Hear My Voice?” project, and Sakarya BİL Colleges with “Goodbye to Plastic and Hello to Insulation” project won prizes in the competition in the young entrepreneur category.
IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın visited the cities which were affected by the earthquake that occurred on 6th February and made our country grieve. Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın who set out saying “it’s time for unity and solidarity”, primarily visited Hatay province which was most affected by the earthquake. Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın met about location planning for container living area with the Coordinator Governors Mehmet Makas, Ali Arslantaş, İskender Gazi, Harun Kaya ve Brigade Commander Ali Mete in the 8. Brigade Command.
While IAU-Blue Crescent (IBC) Container Living Area land in Hatay-Kırıkhan was determining, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın personally started the infrastructure works and he also announced that as of the beginning of March, the installation of containers will begin. Afterward, evaluating the land, he conveyed his thanks to related teams for their help.
After his Kilis visit, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın went to Adıyaman where the earthquake was deeply impressive. Then, he visited Adıyaman BİL College and Malatya-Doğanşehir which were damaged by the earthquake. He examined in the container living area under construction and then he met with earthquake victims.
In his Kahramanmaraş-Elbistan visit, met with Regional Coordinator Trabzon Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu and commission District Governor Eyüp Kaykaç about container living area. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who works heartily for the region after the earthquake and he shared his sorrow for citizens who lost their lives.
Istanbul Aydın University Management Meeting was held on 21th January 2023. Particularly IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, IAU Rector Prof. Dr. Yadigar İzmirli, IAU Deputy President Dr. Halit Fatih Aydın, vice rectors, deans, directors of graduate schools and heads of departments attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the completed 2022 Fall Semester was evaluated and ideas within the scope of plans for the 2023 Spring Semester were exchanged.
The first meeting 2023 of Intellectual Thought Platform which operates under the umbrella of Istanbul Aydın University was held. The speaker of the meeting was Former Minister of National Defence and National Education Dr. İsmet Yılmaz.
In his speech titled “Political Changes” Former Minister of National Defence and National Education Dr. İsmet Yılmaz evaluated the political changes in Türkiye in terms of different fields. At the end of the meeting which a lot of politicians, businessmen, academicians and students attended, the representatives’ questions were answered and a plaque was presented to Minister by IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın and IAU Rector Prof. Dr. Yadigar İzmirli.
Turkish Exporters Assembly Deputy President, Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters’ Association President and Hardware Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association President visited Istanbul Aydın University.
Mr. Çetin Tecdelioğlu was hosted by IAU President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın in his office, got information about internationalization works of Istanbul Aydın University. In addition, Aydın and Tecdelioğlu held a consultation about the projects on international students’ employment in industry sectors.
